With the release of the debut trailer for Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V, the studio has made a formal announcement proclaiming the next title in the series to be in “full development.”

Grand Theft Auto V is currently in the works at Edinburgh-based Rockstar North and will be set in the city of Los Santos and the “surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created.”

Rockstar calls Grand Theft Auto V a “bold new direction for open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based gameplay and online multiplayer,” and in the game, players will focus on the pursuit of “the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.”

Rockstar head Sam Houser said of the game:

“Grand Theft Auto V is another radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe. We are incredibly excited to share our new vision with our fans.”
