If you’re a fan of the Hitman series or stealth games in general, then prepared to be amazed by just under seventeen minutes of fresh Hitman: Absolution footage starring assassin-for-hire Agent 47. Danish developer IO Interactive has clearly taken inspiration from Batman: Arkham Asylum to create a tense and atmospheric experience with plenty of scripted sequences and multiple ways to approach each level.

Hitman: Absolution has been in development for over two years and is scheduled for a 2012 release on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. This fifth entry in the Hitman series utilises IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier 2 engine, which appears to be particularly adept at rendering highly detailed environments with incredible lighting and realistic physics.
