It’s been over two years since we’ve had a proper Resident Evil game so anticipation is high for Capcom’s latest story-driven RE title – Revelations. The game will be set between the events of RE4 and RE5, and revolves around fan favourites Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.
Revelations is scheduled for release early next year and is exclusive to 3DS for the time being. There have been rumours circulating around the internet that it will also come to PS Vita but nothing is confirmed as yet.
From the looks of this new gamescom trailer and gameplay footage, Capcom are investing a lot of resources and talent in Revelations and it seems set to satisfy gamers looking for a console-quality title on the go.
The gameplay footage below also suggests that being able to move and shoot simultaneously is finally going to become a standard feature in Resident Evil games.
Personally, I would love to see games of this pedigree being released on as many platforms as possible because not every Resident Evil fan is prepared to buy a 3DS just so they can experience Capcom’s latest offering in the series. Revelations shouldn’t be too difficult to port to PS Vita, or even iPad 2 if you overlay the necessary buttons on its touch screen.
