Who knew that American comedian Robin Williams has been a fan of The Legend of Zelda series since 1987, when he and his family first discovered the joys of guiding Link through trap-filled dungeons on the Nintendo Entertainment System?
In fact, he became so enamoured with the game that two years later he named his daughter Zelda after the series’ blonde princess.
The two of them will soon be gracing South African televisions in a commercial to celebrate the recent release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3DS. The advert must have already been aired in other countries since a quick YouTube search yields the video below:

What’s your favourite Zelda game of all time? Personally, The Wind Waker on the Gamecube was the title which initially got me hooked on Zelda games, and therefore holds a special place in my memory banks.
