Oooooooooh, Friday the Thirteenth is upon us… and now it’s nearly over to let us enjoy our weekend without fear of something absolutely horrific happening.
“This weekend I’ll be playing some Virtua Tennis 4 for an upcoming review, and enjoying the courtroom atmosphere in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations. There are just not enough classy adventure games being released on consoles these days, so I’m having to turn to titles from yesteryear to satisfy my cerebral craving.
I’d love for PSN to come back online this weekend, but perhaps that is just wishful thinking. When the light turns green, I hope we don’t crash Sony’s servers in the mad rush to get back in the online mix. What a calamity that would be!
I hope you all game well this weekend, and we’ll see you right back here again on Monday.”
“Finally looking forward to a weekend where I should hopefully have some free time to myself!
Of course, as usual, time will be spent with my little baby girl (who seems to be teething at the moment) and watching rugby (hopefully, although the Sharks have a bye). What I was most looking forward to doing this weekend was giving LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean some gaming attention, and I was even more excited to share the experience with my lovely wife as my co-op partner for this review! (Welp… sorry Bryan. Hopefully we’ll get LEGO Pirates soon – Ed)
What more can a man ask for than quality time with his family, watching rugby, and gaming with his best friend and soulmate (sorry Oltman, I meant my wife )?
Naturally, if Oltman and I can find an hour or two we might even attempt some co-op CoD (MW2, BlackOps Zombies, whatever). I’m also quite interested in some ‘Last Night on Earth’ or ‘Betrayal at House on the Hill’ for tonight, since that seems most fitting for Friday the 13th. Mwahahahahaha.
Ahem. Roll on the weekend!”
“Having been awake for more hours this past week playing co-op Left 4 Dead and Modern Warfare 2 than is recommended by my physician, I will probably be sleeping more than gaming this weekend. But that does not mean gaming will be getting its moment in the shade (the sun is bad for games)!
Darkspore will be getting a lot of attention. What started off as a drab experience is slowly getting some momentum and it has the ability to drain hours away about as quickly as gravity drains water through a sieve.
I will also try my hand at a few betas that I finally managed to download. First up is the APB Reloaded beta. The driving is still lagging and the game still has loads of potential. Lets hope they get it right. I also have a beta code for the Age of Empires Online beta. As an old favourite of mine I cant wait to get stuck in with this one as it is going back to its roots after the iffy AoE3.”
“Good times, bad times, you know I’ve had my share…
I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get some Portal 2 time in at some stage this weekend, but more realistically, I’ll be reliving the awesome sights and sounds of Megarom’s recent press event held in Johannesburg this past week, where I got to see Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Call of Juarez: The Cartel and Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure first-hand.
I’ll be writing up my impressions of those games (as well as the event as a whole) this weekend to let you know why I’m incredibly excited for Megarom’s slate of titles releasing over the next few months.
But still… I’d like to get some Portal 2 in there somewhere. Maybe the PlayStation Network will even go live again this weekend – who knows!”
Say, what are you going to be doing this weekend, p33ps? Let us know in the comments below!
