[Update] The ‘Hansel and Gretelbot’ level pack is now available for LittleBigPlanet 2 owners, for free! Get the details here. [End of Update]
If you’ve been playing LittleBigPlanet 2 online recently you will have noticed that the community levels available for the game online are improving in leaps and bounds. I expected there to be a whole lot of polished levels to play when it launched because of all the cool Beta user-generated content that was making waves on the internet prior to launch.
Well, it turns out that those Beta levels were all scrapped and now have to be painstakingly recreated using the retail version due to some dangerous bugs found in the Beta code.
The most exciting piece of LBP2 news at present is the imminent launch of a Media Molecule endorsed community project known as ‘Hansel and Gretelbot.’ Twelve of the most talented LBP community members were tasked with creating something inspirational and masterful using the same tools as the rest of us, and their efforts should be available for all of us to enjoy (for free) sometime this month.
‘Hansel and Gretelbot’ has been six months in development and will feature seven themed levels when it becomes available. These will boast original voice acting, cutscenes, music and all the other bells and whistles that make LBP2 a far more capable creation tool than its predecessor.
