While Crytek busies itself with finishing up development on its next blockbuster first-person shooter in Crysis 2, one of the studio’s next games has been revealed to be a military and multiplayer focussed shooter called Warface.
The title was recently revealed in South Korea, seeing as how Crytek’s Seoul development studio is handling development duties on the game. Also, as online gaming in Korea “and other Asian gaming markets” is so popular, Warface will be a free-to-play PC exclusive title, developed on the latest version of Crytek’s CryEngine 3.
Warface is said to include class-based player versus player gameplay, with multiplayer and co-op missions as well.
CEO and president of Crytek, Cevat Yerli, said of Warface:
“Our passion is to always deliver the best gaming experience possible. That’s why we opened our Crytek Korea office in 2008, which today enables us to offer a game that is tailored to suit its market. We’re excited to debut with Warface in South Korea and to deliver a compelling and truly unique experience soon.”
Not much else is officially known about Warface, but we’ll be sure to hear more about this game in the very near future. Until then, you can have a look at two choice screenshots showcasing the title’s impressive visuals:
