Gas Powered Games, creators of Dungeon Siege and Supreme Commander, and headed up by game industry force Chris Taylor, today announced ‘Kings and Castles,’ an “epic real-time strategy game” for both the PC and consoles, and the next game the developers are working on.
Kings and Castles, billed as a “one-of-a-kind experience,” will allow players to take control of one of three powerful kings to help them take control of an all new and original fantasy world.
During development of the game, Gas Powered Games and Chris Taylor will be taking gamers “on a great adventure” by letting us go behind-the-scenes with the developers and “watch the game come to life from start to finish.”
The developers will be using Facebook, Twitter (you can follow Taylor over here) and Kings and Castles’ official website to clue fans in on progress on the game, where they will be posting updates and video blogs, such as the first ever Kings and Castles video blog that went live today, which you can watch below, but beware: “It contains graphic scenes of wood chopping, chickens, and the obligatory horse biting.”
Also, it’s hilarious:
“Future installments will take fans step-by-step through the design process, discussing the creation of prototypes, the work that goes into creating the visual look and feel, while others will cover the proper care and feeding of chickens.”
“Kings and Castles will utilize the state-of-the-art RTS technology that Gas Powered Games has pioneered with its previous titles. Key features include the ability to zoom to any level, incredible maps, and eye-popping visuals that will run on a wide range of systems.”
“We also promise to gouge evil from its shell at least once, or maybe twice,” said Taylor. “But not three times. That would be weird.”
