Win Soul Calibur V with El33tonline and Megarom! - (Closed)
Congratulations to Nomady81 for winning a copy of Soul Calibur V on the Xbox 360.
The latest entry to the long-running series of Soul Calibur fighting games has just been unleashed in South Africa across Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, giving gamers another chance to experience the eternal tale of souls and swords with the franchise’s fantastical line-up of characters.
Soul Calibur V may take place years after the events of the previous title, but the gameplay focusses just as heavily on the weapons-based combat as before, featuring even more eclectic, inspired and outright outlandish tools of destruction that the just-as-bizarre fighters wield with great proficiency.
The ‘Soul’ series of fighting games has incredibly memorable designs, if nothing else, but the games’ focus on fast, satisfying combat and intense head-to-head multiplayer battles have always set them apart from other similar titles.
El33tonline and Megarom Games are giving you the chance to win a copy of Soul Calibur V on the platform of your choice, but we’re going to try to find the true fans of the ‘Soul’ series by asking:
“Which game in the ‘Soul’ series of fighting games did you play first, and who is your all-time favourite character from the franchise and why?”
No hints or clues for this one - we’re looking for die-hard fans here!
Leave your answer below and be sure to let us know which platform you would prefer the game on (Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3) for a chance to discover an all-new eternal tale of souls and swords in Soul Calibur V!
We’re going to run this Soul Calibur V competition until the very end of February 20th.
Until then, keep your eyes on El33tonline’s previous coverage of Soul Calibur V for all kinds of screenshots, videos and extra details, and look forward to our review of the game soon!
Thanks to Megarom for providing the prizes!
(Note: This competition is open to residents of South Africa only.)

Zasalamel - Soul Calibre 4. I love his outfit (hoody and all) and the scyth he employs makes him look like a bad@$$ soul reaper. Me like PS3
Hmmm if i am not mistaken i think the first one i played was soul edge on those machines in the shops that used to take like 20c.
Favourite character would have to be Siegfried. All i have to say is big ass sword.

Kilik, because he has a nice combination of close combat and ranged skills with his staff. :)
PS3 please.
Soul edge on PS1... Always was a Mitsurugi fan... and still play him now on SC4. Who else challenges a gun to look for a REAL tough fight. A Well balanced character with the slowest charging special that i could NEVER land :P
Xbox 360
Soul Caliber 1 was my first game and I can't remember the characters name, but he looked semi like a pirate with some awesome swords and all I know is his name started with a C....... I'll google and see if I can't find it. Xbox 360 Please.
soul edge on the PS1 was my first "soul" game, and my favorite character has always been Taki. I just love ninjas, especially hot female ones!!!!! PS3 please
Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast.
Favourite has to be Maxi, with his short-range nunchuks you have to get in quite close but he has some great combinations and decent speed.
Xbox 360 please :D
(Xbox360) - I forgot to add my preference
I played the original Soul Edge in the arcades, and I've been a Voldo player since then. He's the creepiest motherf___er in any fighting game, ever.
Dammit, also forgot to add Xbox 360.
Soul Calibur 2 Mitsurugi - not sure why but his like a ryu character for me. When I play street fighter which ever one I always play with Ryu first. Whenever I play Soul Calibur I play with Mitsurugi.
Xbox360
My first was Soul Calibur II, had to play it on my brother's Playstation. LOL My favourite Character is Ivy for sure. Cause as it chick it is nice to be able to kick ass with hot powerful characters like her. Just loved her moves.
PS3
Soul Caliber 4 - Didnt even know it existed (for shame) until my buddy got it.
Fav Character was Mitsurugi. Just feels right using a samurai in a sword fight
I remember renting Soul Blade for the original PlayStation from the video store when I was still in primary school. The first Soul game I owned was Soul Calibur 2 on the PS2. Team battle was the best, but it didn't appear in any the Soul Calibur games after that :(
My favourite character is definitely Valdo, just because he has the weirdest fighting style of all the them and the weirdest costumes throughout the series...
I would like a PS3 copy if I win please :D
Soul Calibur II and my favourite character is Mitsurugi because of his fighting strength.

I need to go back and see what I missed here. Xbox please. /me phone some friends and find out why I never played any SC :-(
I played it from the start with the very first game in the series - Soul Edge (also known as Soul Blade) on my trusty old PS1. My favourite character (that has also stood the test of time) is Mitsurugi with his quick and powerful katana strikes. Also a huge fan of Spawn in the Xbox version of Soul Calibur II. PS3
my first rodeo with the series was Soul Calibur II on the game cube,Valdo was my first and favourite character,no one can pull of wearing a thong and still look bad ass,(ps3 please)
I played Soul Calibur IV, so quite a late comer to the series, and I really enjoyed playing with Yoda funnily enough. Even though he is not a true Soul Calibur character, the different fighting style really gave my opponents a real problem as they had to completely adapt their fighting style :D and...its Yoda!
Xbox 360
My first experience with the franchise was Soul Edge on Ze Snake's PS1. Mitsurugi has been my favorite since then cause I'm a fan of samurai.
