Voting for El33tonline’s Game of the Year competition is now closed!
We’ve announced the results of the Game of the Year competition! You can find a list of 2010’s top games, as voted on by you, over here.
Thanks to everyone who voted!
Not only that, but thanks to Ster Kinekor, Nintendo South Africa and Xbox 360 South Africa, we’re able to hand out great prizes to a bunch of lucky participants, simply because you voted for the Game of the Year!

This year has seen the release of a megaton of fantastic videogames, hasn’t it? From the very outset of 2010, gamers have been showered in a deluge of brilliant titles across all genres and consoles, ready and willing to satisfy all tastes!
El33tonline has covered, reviewed and had extensive looks at all of the best games of 2010, and we were dead-set on compiling a final ‘Top Ten’ list of the very best titles of this year… but we were going crazy trying to rank these games and squeeze them into such a tiny amount of space - the best we could do was a Top Twenty!
And you can just forget about choosing an ultimate Game of the Year! Impossible!
So to save us a little sanity, we’re asking you, our lovely readers, to help us whittle down our ‘Top Twenty’ into a final ‘Top Ten’ (and choose a Game of the Year in the process) by voting on your absolute favourite, best game of 2010.
There are three ways to do this:
1.) Follow El33tonline on Twitter and vote with the links below
2.) ‘Like’ El33tonline’s Facebook page and comment on the competition page
3.) Simply leave a comment on this very page telling us which game should be No. 1
You can use these three votes in any way you choose, but you can only vote once per method (Twitter, Facebook and the comments section), and for any of the titles in the Top Twenty, listed below.
Of course, we’re not asking you to do all of this for nothing! El33tonline will be giving away a great variety of random spot prizes to those of you who vote (from games to shirts to goodie hampers), so even if your game doesn’t come in first, there’s still a chance that you will win!
Voting for El33tonline’s Game of the Year 2010 closes on December 9th with results to be published soon after, so get your votes in (and get your friends to vote!) to help us decide!

Red Dead Redemption - Most epic game I've played in a long long long time.
GT5 is in close 2nd, haven't had engough time with the game to realise its full glory yet :D

Assasin's Creed : Brotherhood
Alan Wake is El33tonline’s Game of the Year! I have an Xbox 360, Not since the old days of Resident Evil on PS has a game been able to give me a fright. After a few play throughs the game still made me jump.
Forgot to add, even the short downloadable movies they had for Ala Wake were amazing.
Game of the Year has to be Mass Effect 2.
It fixed all the issues of ME1 and improved on the first game on an exponential level. Great storyline, multiple endings, multiple ways to react to characters, great action and a tense and epic final chapter. In fact i plan to play it again as soon as the DLC becomes a bit cheaper :)
Notable mention has to go to Assassin's Creed 2: Another game that fixed all the issues of the first one and improved on the game play exponentially.

well it can not be new games cause it says Game of the Year. only 3 games, Battle Bad Company 2,Red Dead Redemtion and Halo Reach!!
but i would go for Halo Reach, it has done realy well in sales and the number of people online, new style, new game modes. halo reach is a game you can pick up and play everyday. i bought new and cool games, but i still come to Halo Reach ;) its sweet and smooth, no doubt.
I fear my vote about as original as Nike Shoes in SA but Red Dead Redemption (XboX) is the one. Such a good game.

I'm voting for God of War III. It's a biased vote because I haven't played all of the other games (I only have a PS3), but it's an epic game that deserves serious consideration for GOTY.
My Game Of The Year is Red Dead Redemption. It was everything I hoped it would be. A close second would be Mass Effect 2. Wow! What a game! I have an Xbox 360 and a PS3.
