The Neo Fit is a soft protective cover for the Wii Fit Balance Board. While most covers on the market are made from silicone, this one is made from Neoprene material which makes it very soft to the touch and comfortable to stand on.

Apart from making the Balance Board more comfortable to stand on, the Neo Fit also protects it from dirt and scratches. The cover is available in two colours, grey with green edging, to match the colours of Wii Fit, or pink with grey edging to add a splash of colour to your normally Wii white wardrobe.

The cover is easy to fit to the Balance Board – simply pull the four pieces of elastic over the board to secure it in place. The cover is also simple to remove and storing it is easy because it does not take up a lot of space. The bottom of the cover has a grip-like surface so it adheres to the Balance Board and won’t slip around, even during demanding yoga poses.

Neo Fit covers the top of the Board but because it is not secured over the edges of the Board, the edges may curl over time. I didn’t find a problem with the size of the cover or the fact that it had seams. However, another gamer with larger feet found the cover’s seams to be a bit uncomfortable.

With more games being made to be compatible with the Balance Board, it makes sense to invest in a good quality cover to protect your board. In addition to Wii Fit, you can use the Balance Board in Shaun White Snowboarding, Family Ski and Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party.

The NeoFit cover is a good solution to adding comfort to your work-out as well as keeping the Balance Board clean and scratch-free. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference, whether you prefer a silicone cover or a neoprene one.

The dreamGEAR Neo Fit cover costs R285 while the dreamGEAR Jeli Sleeve (made of silicone) retails at R270 so the price is really much of a muchness.
