The iMP Boxing Gloves are compatible with all boxing games, so you can use them with both Wii Sports and Wii Fit. The boxing gloves are fashioned after the traditional colours of boxing gloves, black with red trim. Apart from looking the part, the gloves are soft to the touch and padded for comfort. Each glove has a Velcro strap so you can adjust the gloves to fit different gamers’ hands. There is also a piece of elastic behind the front of the glove which allows for stretch. Each glove has a compartment on the front to house the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The top of each compartment has a cover that seals with Velcro so the controllers are securely attached. There is also an opening on each compartment’s cover which the Nunchuk cord runs through. The wrist strap of the Wii Remote can remain inside the compartment so it’s convenient that you don’t have to remove it before using the gloves.
The sensor of the Wii Remote does not work through the gloves so you should only insert the controller into the glove once you are ready to box. It is quite simple to push the A button through the gloves but I would recommend you first set the boxing game up, get your gloves ready and then push A to start the game. Overall the boxing gloves definitely enhance the boxing gameplay experience. The controllers still respond well while housed in the gloves and the only difference I could find between using the gloves and playing with the normal controllers, albeit it a small difference, was that it was slightly easier to get your Mii to dodge left and right while using the normal controllers. If you enjoy the boxing in Wii Sports or Wii Fit, you should pick yourself up a set of these boxing gloves – they will make your boxing experience more believable…and fun! The iMP Boxing Gloves are available for R175 from Take 2, Kalahari, Incredible Connection, Look & Listen and BT Games. Thanks to MobileG for the review sample.

Since every Wii comes bundled with Wii Sports, it’s a safe bet that most Wii gamers out there have stepped into the boxing ring at least a few times. If you are looking to make your boxing experience more realistic, the iMP Boxing Gloves are the perfect solution.
Simply insert the Wii Remote into the right glove and the Nunchuk into the left glove. Slip the Nunchuk cable through the opening in the glove and connect the Nunchuk to the Wii Remote in the other glove. It’s fairly simple to do but you may have to wiggle the Wii Remote around a bit to line it up. Make sure it is clipped in properly and you are set to jump in the ring!
