It’s been a two-year wait since Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I was released but the time has finally come to take Sonic for another spin through a variety of speedy courses in Sonic 4: Episode II. This time the blue hedgehog is joined by Miles ‘Tails’ Prower as they pursue their old rivals Metal Sonic and Dr. Eggman.
Fans of Trine 2’s beautiful art design and sumptuous visuals can look forward to the release of an upcoming expansion pack that introduces majestic new worlds to traverse. The game was recently made free to PlayStation Plus subscribers so there’s really no excuse for Plus members to miss out on this excellent co-op platformer.
Trials Evolution is the highly anticipated follow-up to the classic Xbox LIVE Arcade title Trials HD. This sequel looks to expand and improve upon the original in every conceivable way, with some of the new additions including head-to-head multiplayer and curving tracks.
The platformer genre has returned to the fore in recent years thanks to digital distribution platforms such as Steam, Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. Puzzle platformers have been particularly popular of late and that trend looks set to continue with the release of Fez on XBLA next month.
Microsoft has confirmed reports stating that the Gamerscore policy for Xbox LIVE Arcade titles will soon be revised.
Sega is no stranger to publishing edgy, violent titles like MadWorld and House of the Dead: Overkill. The company’s latest venture is Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit - an upcoming downloadable title for XBLA, PSN and Steam that features extreme cartoon violence and an adult story.

Microsoft is currently offering excellent discounts on eighteen Xbox Live Arcade titles including Trials HD, Outland and Shank. Most of the games are discounted by 50%, although there are one or two exceptions. These special offers are valid until next Monday, October 3rd.
I’ve flipped through the North American, European and South African marketplaces, and can confirm that the specials apply to all these regions. However, some of the featured XBLA titles such as Outland are not yet available from the South African marketplace, so expect a smaller selection of discounted games to choose from if you’re using a SA account.
Axel & Pixel will be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow for 800 Microsoft Points.
The game sees painter Axel and his dog Pixel awakening within a dream world one day. The duo must solve the mysteries of the landscapes to escape. Players can look forward to 24 chapters set in four different seasons, with three vehicle mini-games and lots of challenging puzzles.
Telltale Games has announced that additional Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures will be released in November.
The first episode of the series, Fright of the Bumblebees, was released on Xbox Live Arcade back in May for 800 Microsoft Points.
More details of the new episode/s were promised closer to November.

Telltale Games has announced that Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space will be available on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, the 14th of October.
Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space features all five episodes of Sam & Max Season Two. The bundle will cost 1600 Microsoft Points and will include HD graphic support, achievements and it will also be subtitled in German, French, Italian and Spanish. Just so you know a second Sam & Max picture pack will also be released tomorrow.
