Now that the first ever in-game footage of Bulletstorm has been released into the wild, we’ve immediately started seeing video interviews with Epic Games’ design director, Cliff Bleszinski, showing up in and around Mother Internet, but here’s two that you can sink your teeth (and… eyeballs… and eardrums) into.

During the interviews, Blezsinksi talks about the amazingly fun-looking first-person shooter action romp, his involvement with the title, the new ‘Kill With Skill’ system and new abilities associated with it, and the dangerous (and helpful) world you’ll find yourself navigating around in the game.

You can watch both of these extremely interesting and informative interviews below:

Halo 2 Box ArtXbox LIVE support for the original Xbox shut down during the early hours of this morning, which means that all of your favourite first-generation Xbox games are no longer playable online.

No more Halo 2, is what that means.

To say goodbye in the proper manner, Gametrailers recorded one final Halo 2 multiplayer match, and it’s kind of difficult to watch. Not because of any fond, distant memories that come flooding back, but because, compared to modern games, Halo 2 looks quite dated.

Maybe it is time to move on to Halo 3 and the upcoming Halo: Reach, after all…

Xbox LIVE Logo SmallerA bit of a late reminder, but today is the last day that you’ll be able to play your original Xbox games online, because as of midnight tonight (April 14th), Microsoft will be shutting down support for Xbox LIVE via the original Xbox.

Xbox 360 Party Even in the face of the announcement that Halo 2 (and the rest of the original Xbox games) will no longer be playable online through Xbox LIVE after April 15th, “avid” multiplayer gamers continue to rake in the frags in the game, and will continue to do so until Microsoft pull the plug on the aging service.

So in an effort to extend a peace-offering to these “loyal” online Halo 2 players for their tireless gaming sessions, Microsoft has sent out e-mails to select gamers detailing a list of rewards that they will be given access to in the coming months.

Xbox LIVE Logo SmallerMajor Nelson has let everybody know that as of April 15th this year, Microsoft will discontinue Xbox LIVE services for the original Xbox console and games, “including Xbox 1 games playable on Xbox 360.”

This is pretty shocking, as I’m sure you’ll agree. No more Halo 2 online, folks.

The first step in this process, writes Nelson, will be to turn off auto-renewals for members who only use Xbox LIVE on an original Xbox. The post continues:

Resident Evil 5 Banner Image

Kazuhiko Abe, CFO of Capcom, has revealed that the fifth entry to the Resident Evil series has sold an impressive five million copies since its release in March.

Speaking at the Reuters Global Technology Summit in Tokyo, Abe said that while most of that figure was made up in the month of March (approximately 4.4 million copies), 570 000 units were sold in April:

“We are still enjoying strong demand, very strong demand, that is,” said Abe.

Sales of the title in the current financial year are expected to exceed Capcom’s own forecast of 800 000 units, with a new estimate of one million copies for the year.

It was also revealed that Capcom enjoyed an eleven percent jump in operating profit for the financial year ended March 31st, on the back of strong Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV sales.

That’s the word from Microsoft’s CFO of Entertainment & Devices Division, Mindy Mount, who claimed; “By the end of this month, we expect our global installed base to reach 25 million units, surpassing that of the first Xbox.”

Microsoft Game Studios LogoWe don’t doubt it, with the console now going into its fourth Christmas period and still selling strongly. Indeed, Mount suggested that this milestone is only the beginning, while explaining that research shows more than a quarter of a console’s sales occur after the price drops to $199 or lower.

The Xbox Arcade is currently retailing at that exact price, following price drops across all of the Xbox units, from the standard version to the Elite. This price drop has reportedly accounted for a sales increase of 42% in the US, 62% in Europe and a massive 500% in Japan.

As for the upcoming Christmas period, Mount said “We have a lot of reasons to be cautiously optimistic” while adding that, while Fable II and Gears of War 2 will continue to be strong sellers during the holiday, she reckons You’re in the Movies could be a ‘sleeper hit,’ especially amongst teens and women.
