Azmodan arrives to inflict Maximum Pain…
For most gamers, this week is all about one of two things: Max Payne 3 and/or Diablo III.
Given the ‘titan’ status of these two titles, you would be forgiven for thinking that no other games are due for release this week, but you’ll definitely find something else that’s fresh and new on both digital and physical store shelves over the next seven days, worldwide.
What games would be foolish enough to go up against ‘The Titans of May?’ Let’s have a look at the release schedule:
Those birds can fly really high…
The undeniable highlight of this week’s worldwide videogame release list is the PlayStation 3-exclusive Starhawk, but Xbox LIVE Marketplace browsers might argue that the appearance of a recent phenomenon of a game on their service is just as important a release.
Who is right?
Look over this week’s round-up of videogame releases - just one more week before 2012’s biggest big hitters arrive, everybody, hang in there:
All Quiet on the Western Front…
Want to go on a series of bone-crunching sniping missions during World War II? Dying to embark on a massive and multiplayer fantasy quest with your friends? How does running through fabled lands with just three of your friends grab you?
It’s to be expected, but there’s not a whole lot of new releases flooding into the world of videogames this week, save for the following morsels over the next seven days:
Version 2.0 of this prototype looks promising…
Is this the last week of relatively empty videogame releases? How much longer do we have to wait until the titles on offer are overflowing on retail and digital shelves?
This week is a little different, however, as it’s probably better that there’s nothing else to attempt to steal our time away from the biggest release of April - Prototype 2!
What other new titles are out this week around the world? Let’s see:
The evolution of the trial…
Once again, you need not scour the shelves of your local videogame retailers too vigorously in search of brand new titles because the bounty you receive in return won’t fill your boots.
You will be rewarded with some quality games, however, but you’ll need to once again look to the digital shelves of PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and Steam to find some real gems this week.
Find out what new games are due for release around the world this week with our round-up below:
Look not to the shelves for your games this week…
If you’re expecting anything of fresh value to pop up at your local videogame retailer this week, then you might just find yourself disappointed because it seems there are zero boxed games heading to stores over the next seven days.
Physical stores, that is.
If we’re talking about digital stores, then whoa buddy, there’s some quality awaiting your gaming senses. Cast your gaze yonder (or below) to see what lies in wait:
Feel The Force…
High definition remakes, a new game based on an old license, a game that desperately wants to feel alive again and… the return of Star Wars to your videogame console.
Or a specific videogame console. And a specific device.
Find out what games we can expect to release around the world this week in our round-up below:
Let’s go on a journey…
It’s another one of those ‘something for everyone’ weeks with this edition of El33tonline’s round-up of videogame release round-ups, with sports enthusiasts and action fans taken care of, but those of us seeking something a little less taxing and a lot more emotive have something else to keep us occupied…
Take a look through this week’s line-up of games due for release around the world to see if anything grabs your attention:
Take Back Earth…
Mass Effect 3 dominates this week’s list of game releases, but sports and fighting game fans still have something to keep them occupied and glued to their screens, while Sims 3 players are in for a very special treat, too!

Let’s get tricky!
This week sees another videogame franchise reboot releasing under the EA umbrella, this time in the form of the uber-popular SSX action snowboarding series of extreme sports titles.
Will you be picking it up this week?
Not a fan of mountains, the cold and white powder (not necessarily exclusive)? Then check out what else is out this week around the world:
“Syndicate, selected…”
It’s time for you to put points into upgrades and decide how best to build the ultimate ‘negotiating’ super soldier because Syndicate from EA and StarBreeze is launching this week!
Anything else exciting happening this week? Oh, only the small matter of the launch of Sony’s PS Vita!
What else is due for release around the world across digital and physical retail store shelves over the next few days? Let’s take a look:
It’s slim pickings this week in terms of brand new videogame releases, but as always, there’s a bit of a silver lining to this cloud that’s intent on hanging over the industry for the next few days.
If you enjoy punching fighters to a pulp, racing around arenas in combat vehicles or teleporting inside of enemies to make them explode, then there’s something for you this week:
Have you already forgotten what games you can expect to hit retail and virtual store shelves over the course of this week? Then your memory is just as bad as ours, so it’s a good thing we keep vast lists of these sorts of important details.
Now if only we could find our latest list of worldwide game releases for this week… ah, here it is!
It’s the very first weekly game release round-up of 2012 here on El33tonline, so let’s make it a special occasion with lots of awesome new games, shall we?!
… dang.
So, there aren’t that many new games releasing this week around the world, but the quality is exceptionally high with the sequel to a long-awaited RPG sequel, the adventures of an immortal demon slayer, and an eternally told tale of souls and swords all making their way to retail over the next few days. Plus more!
Let’s look over the list of quality titles releasing this week, like it was the first time:
Not much to see here…
We’re not going to lie: There isn’t whole ton of new games or even downloadable content releasing this week, but despite currently being engaged in its death throes, 2011 still has a few morsels to offer up to gamers:
