In news that will surely induce squeals of delight in many a gaming enthusiast, the indie classic platform adventure game, Cave Story, will be getting another remake, only this time for the 3DS.
Nintendo of America is now offering demo versions of select WiiWare titles again.
Initially only a few demos will be available, including BIT.TRIP FATE, And Yet It Moves, ThruSpace and Jett Rocket. However, new demos will be added on Mondays and will be available on the Wii Shop Channel for a limited time.
Australian-based developer Nocturnal will be launching Flowerworks: Follie’s Adventure on WiiWare this Friday. It will be available in Europe, Australia and New Zealand for 500 Wii Points.
Flowerworks is an action adventure game that has been built from the ground-up for the Wii. It was under development for over 18 months and, as the name suggests, combines flowers and fireworks.
Today’s the day Sonic fans can finally get their hands on the latest 2D adventures of ‘The Blue Speedster,’ and to celebrate the occasion SEGA has unleashed a fantastic launch trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1.
In the trailer, you’ll be able to get some sneak peeks at a few of the environments, boss fights and crazy situations players will find themselves in, and you can watch all of that action below:
Although the downloadable title was meant to release a little earlier this year, the development team behind Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 wisely decided to delay the game’s release, not only to ensure “overall high-quality throughout the game,” but also to add iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) to the list of release platforms.
Now almost four months later, SEGA has announced a set of official release dates for Sonic 4: Episode 1 as the title hits a variety of game devices, in a variety of territories.

Nintendo has revealed a new title for WiiWare called Fluidity. According to the publisher the game “combines an amazing physics engine that realistically models flowing water with innovative puzzle game play.”
Just to remind everyone that a brand new, improved and excellent-looking Sonic game is on the way, SEGA has unleashed a fantastic gameplay trailer featuring the hasty little blue dude speeding his way around what looks to be a Labyrinth-type level, all in amazing high definition visuals!
Those sound effects are still pretty ‘classic,’ though, if you know what I mean…
Enjoy some gameplay footage from Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 below:
Nintendo of America released a calendar of their upcoming titles earlier today, with almost all games mentioned getting firm dates.
There’s nothing particularly new in the Wii’s line-up, other than confirmation of FlingSmash actually being released and reconfirmation of Kirby’s 2010 release, October 2010 to be precise. Donkey Kong Country Returns was also confirmed to be released on 21 November.
Here is the full list of Wii games:
Interplay Entertainment recently announced its intention to release a high definition version of MDK 2 on PC later this year, alongside a Wii version of the title to be delivered via WiiWare.
Originally released in 2000 on PC and Dreamcast, and then a year later on the PlayStation 2, MDK 2 is the classic Bioware-developed sequel to Shiny Entertainment’s MDK, both of which featured (as far as memory serves) highly enjoyable (and chaotic) third-person action shooting adventures.
Telltale Games has released a new trailer and a batch of new screenshots from their upcoming puzzling adventure game, Puzzle Agent.
Puzzle Agent promises to deliver “intriguing mystery with brain-teasing challenges” when it becomes available for the PC, Mac and WiiWare later this month for $9.95. The game comes from the mind of Graham Annable (the creator of the Grickle series of comics and animations and the publisher’s first Art Director) who lists the Professor Layton games as an inspiration.
SEGA has announced that the first game in the proposed Sonic the Hedgehog 4 series of downloadable episodes has been delayed until “late 2010.”
As recompense, however, it seems as though Sonic 4: Episode 1 will be making its way to more platforms than the previously announced Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and WiiWare, with iPhone and iPad to be imbued with high-speed Sonic platforming adventures when the game is released.
A press release explained the delay thus:
WarioWare: Do it Yourself is launching across Europe for the DS and DSi tomorrow, giving DS gamers the chance to create and share their own games and play over 90 microgames.
In true Wario style each microgame lasts no more than ten seconds, challenging players to see how many they can clear in a row. You’ll also be able to design your own microgame, making important decisions about graphics, animation, music and rules. Tutorials will guide you at first but pretty soon the sky will be the limit!
A batch of new screenshots has been released for SEGA’s upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, featuring none other (and no other) than the publisher’s blue speedster.
The shots are very… classic, shall we say? Yes. It sure does look like a 2D Sonic game, as the hedgehog runs and loops his way around green and gold levels collecting rings and bumping into enemies.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 is expected to release this Summer on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, PlayStation Network and WiiWare, but these new screenshots have already been released, so head on down below to eyeball ‘em:
The Excite series has seen some great entries on the Wii. ExciteTruck, a close-to-launch title, was a great trick-racing game where stars collected while racing through drifting, tree-running, jumping, spinning and generally performing unrealistic stunts were almost more important than winning the race. ExciteBots took the idea and went even more crazy: racing mechanized insects was just the tip of the insanity-iceberg. If you’re looking for more of that then ExciteBike: World Challenge will disappoint. That’s because it returns to the simplicity of the original ExciteBike and re-imagines it. The result is a very simple game with good depth and a lot of fun.
