Following the recent release of the free co-operative downloadable content for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, Exterminatus, Relic and THQ will give players of the crushing action game a chance to extend the features of that content with new DLC in the near future.
Tired of slogging through hordes of Orcs on your lonesome? Are your multiplayer competitors getting predictable?
Then you’ll be glad to know that the (totally free) Exterminatus co-operative downloadable content for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is now available on Xbox LIVE!
Did we mention it’s free?
Now that you’ve completed the crushing singleplayer campaign in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine and destroyed fools in the multiplayer, it’s time to team up with three friends and carve your way through hordes of orcs together with the release of the free ‘Exterminatus Mode’ downloadable content.
We had a collection of leftover videogame news bits that we didn’t know what to do with, so instead of throwing them away and casting them into the great unknown of the internet, we carved out a home and carefully placed them here.
What’s the latest word on games like Uncharted 3, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine and Duke Nukem Forever? What’s up with the latest 3DS colour and Double Fine’s ‘Pack of Brütality?’
Let’s find out:
Dead Island has once again topped Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing, remaining at No. 1 for the second week in a row ahead of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, which is similarly unmovable at No. 2.
Dead Island has so far sold best on Xbox 360, with a 51/47 split between Microsoft’s console and the PlayStation 3 (with the PC version taking the remaining 2%, although these numbers don’t take digital sales into consideration).
The newly released Dead Island from Techland and Koch Media has claimed the No. 1 spot on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing this past week ahead of another new release, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine from Relic and THQ.
Sure, there are new games out today (like Warhammer 40K: Space Marine) and other fresh titles that released earlier this week (like Resistance 3), but there are other games that will be keeping the team at El33tonline busy this weekend: Rugby games.
And not even of the digital variety. We’re talking real-life, true blue, in living colour rugby games!
With the start of the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand this weekend, and South Africa crunching up the field against Wales on Sunday, it’s all about rugby over the next two days, but there will still be time for at least a few videogames.
What’s the team at El33tonline up to this weekend? Let’s find out:
Relic Entertainment has done its homework for Warhammer 40: Space Marine and has made a guns-blazing, blood-smattering 3rd person action game with shooter and melee elements – a far cry from the developer’s Dawn of War RTS series.
After playing through preview code for Space Marine, I can say that this game, however, will similarly provide players with a rich experience that stays true to the history of the Space Marines, which undoubtedly many action game fans and Warhammer veterans alike could easily appreciate.

We continue our look at the videogame fans we found wandering the gamescom halls in Part 2 of our gallery (don’t miss Part 1!). Highlights include Team Jokerz, a couple of Orcs and some fun characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. Of course no gallery is complete without a few Storm Troopers, and even R2-D2 joined in the festivities.
It’s time to indulge in a couple game demos today on Xbox LIVE, as tasters for EA’s ice hockey game, NHL 12, and THQ’s heavy action game, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, have both hit the Marketplace!
Exclusive to Xbox LIVE Gold members for now, what can you expect from the demos for these two vastly different games?
Here are a few ideas:
Over the course of the recent San Diego Comic-Con we got to catch our first look at the multiplayer of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine with a video interview - it’s looking like raucous fun, don’t you know - but now we’ve got fresh new looks at the brutal action title.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is due for release quite soon, and we’re eagerly awaiting early September to take rifles and chainsaw swords to those hideous Orcs in the game’s brutal-looking singleplayer campaign, as well as take the newly revealed multiplayer component for a spin.
Associate producer at Relic Entertainment Otto Ottosson could not have combined a more perfect sequence of words together to make Warhammer 40: Space Marine appeal to me, personally, than a sentence he constructed while talking about the game’s multiplayer.
THQ has released a new trailer and artwork for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine. The publisher also recently announced the Collector’s Edition for the game, which is detailed below.
THQ had a well-rounded line-up going into E3 and as a result we enjoyed some awesome screenshots and explosive trailers from the publisher.
