The Bogey Man is the fourth and final episode in Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Adventures, and it certainly clubs everything together to bring the episodic series to a blistering and exhilarating conclusion!

Without giving away the end to Muzzled! (Episode 3), Episode 4 begins the day after the conclusion to Muzzled! where Wallace desperately pleads with his heroic hound to help him out of his latest and seemingly inescapable plight. Not wanting to let his best friend down, Gromit sets off in Act One to find a way to extricate Wallace. What slowly transpires is the typical mixture of humourous antics and delightful dialogue from the whimsical characters of West Wallaby Street.

Wallace and Gromit return for the penultimate act outlining their Grand Adventures in Episode 3’s Muzzled! The storm from “The Last Resort” (Episode 2) has completely destroyed the local dog shelter leading to West Wallaby Street becoming overrun by homeless hounds. Fortuitously the self-proclaimed philanthropist and lover of charity, Monty Muzzle, arrives in town to help fix things up for the overwhelmed residents of washed out West Wallaby Street…but is his provident appearance perhaps a little too good to be true?

In The Last Resort, Wallace and Gromit return in the second of four episodes detailing their latest Grand Adventures. Although I am stating the obvious, Episode 2 follows on from Episode 1, but it is not strictly essential to have played Episode 1 in order to fully enjoy the experience of Episode 2 (see, there was some motive to my madness in stating the obvious!). In fact, I don’t even recall a single reference back to Episode 1.

Aaah, episodic content! An enticing way for software publishers to score plenty of quick bucks, and for consumers to never quite get the value-for-money they expect or deserve! You can probably tell I’m more than a tad skeptical of the whole concept of episodic content, since it seems like a convenient excuse for developers to stretch out a title for as long as possible, and squeeze out every drop of profit in the process. With this in mind, I approached Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures: Episode 1 - Fright of the Bumblebees with a great degree of trepidation, and more than a mild dash of cynicism.

Yosumin! LIVEThree new games have appeared, as if by magic, on the Xbox LIVE Arcade (XBLA) service, each of which are handily priced at 800 MS Points. What games are available this time?

First up is Boggle, the old word game updated for modern-day sensibilities and forming part of Hasbro’s Family Game Night series of XBLA games.

Next is a puzzle game by the name of Yosumin! LIVE, where the aim of the game is to “find rectangles of matching tiles known as ‘yosumin’ and make them disappear. Make massive rectangles for the ultimate feeling of satisfaction! It’s not just about solo play - there are online battle modes to enjoy as well!”

Good to know.
