It’s no secret that I am a Tomb Raider fan. I have watched as the series grew in popularity over the years, been dismayed when it began to crumble a little over the past few years, excited when The Guardian of Light bore testament to a reawakening of the might of Lara Croft, and amazed when the new re-imagined Tomb Raider was revealed.
Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is due to release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 this March. If you’ve been following the game as closely as we have, you’ll no doubt want to gather every morsel of information you can before the launch date.
With Ubisoft’s upcoming tactical squad-based shooter, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, now only hitting our shelves in May, we’re going to need every bit of information we can gather to help us last the extra wait.
Love it or hate it, a new Devil May Cry action title is in development at Heavenly Sword/Enslaved developer Ninja Theory. Currently known as DmC, the new title will feature the action-packed antics of a re-imagined younger and more rebellious Dante, the franchise-long star of Capcom’s Devil May Cry games.
According to the publisher, DmC will “redefine the franchise” but “retain the series’ signature mix of sword and gunplay” adding “additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalized gameplay system.”
EA has put together a hilarious parody of Dead Space 2 and MySims SkyHeroes.

If you’re a fan of the Resident Evil series and in the mood for something a little lighter this afternoon, then we’ve got just the thing for you.
Watch below as the actors of the recently released Resident Evil: Afterlife act out lines from the original Resident Evil game. It’s hilarious, especially seeing Milla Jovovich say the infamous phrase: “Jill, here’s a lockpick. It might come in handy if you, “the master of unlocking”, take it with you.”
This fast-paced Brink developer diary (the fourth in a series) talks about the unmistakable visual identity of Splash Damage’s first-person shooter, which encompasses a ‘realistic but cartoony’ approach to character design, and a colourful, vibrant philosophy with regards to environments, whether they’re ultra clean and sterile, or filthy and chaotic.
The video diary also includes more gameplay footage from Brink, and extended looks at the characters and environments of the game. Not a good video to miss:
Sony of Europe has posted an interesting interview with Jason Reid, the producer of Split/Second on their blog, discussing Disney Interactive Studio’s upcoming action racing game, Split/Second.
In the interview Reid discusses the six game modes, framerate as well as environments and Power Plays. He also reveals that developer Black Rock Studios took quite a bit of inspiration from Hollywood and Jerry Bruckheimer to create Split/Second.
Any self-respecting living, breathing zombie-slaying gamer could tell you that Dead Rising 2 will be coming to the PS3 on the 31st of August. It’s been four years since Dead Rising and now the “zombies are ready to shamble, moan and hunger for brains again.”

We’re heading into the final stretch before the highly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy 2 hits shelves, and Nintendo look set to continue teasing us with new gameplay trailers from the game until we can actually play it. Not that we’re complaining, right?

Disney Interactive Studios has released an interesting new ‘Making of’ video for their upcoming action racing game, Split/Second.
The video sees the developers discussing Tracks and Cars, revealing how each map will feature split routes which can be opened by triggering the Power Plays (which may destroy not only your opponents but the environment too) and then how each lap will change as a result of these.
The Behemoth has announced that PS3 owners are one step closer to playing Castle Crashers. According to an update on their development blog, the game has been sent to final testing and will thereafter be submitted to Sony.
“Our indefatigable programmers have been working their little fingers to the bone to make this game perfect for you. We’ve completed our internal testing, courtesy of our new Testopia office, a wonderland of testing joy. We have now sent the title off to a 3rd party vendor for final testing before we begin the submission process with Sony.”
The Halo: Reach multiplayer beta kicked off to a flying start yesterday, with players from around the world gaining access via their Halo 3: ODST game discs to what Microsoft is calling the “biggest console beta ever.”
The beta will run until the 19th of May, giving players to chance to experience and test a piece of the competitive multiplayer action in Halo: Reach. It includes a host of new features including new game types, weapons, armour abilities, player rewards, customisation options and social settings.

Disney Interactive has released a new featurette video for its upcoming action racer Split/Second, this one detailing the game’s Survival mode.
Survival mode is a points based mode that can be enjoyed in single player, split-screen and online multiplayer. Players drive around a closed circuit racing against the clock, passing giant rigs that drop explosive barrels behind them – blue ones to slow you down and red to cause an instant wreck.
