A couple of new videos have been released for Velvet Assassin, an intriguing stealth action game that sees the protagonist reliving her past secret operative missions during World War II in her own mind, as she lies bed-ridden in a hospital.
Visually, Velvet Assassin is looking very interesting indeed, with a very definite graphics filter making everything look a little surreal. Gameplay-wise, it looks kind of clunky and plodding, but hopefully that lends itself to the stealth aspect of the game.

The next Velvet Assassin gameplay video follows below:
The World War 2 stealth-action game, Velvet Assassin, has gone gold and will be shipping next week, says publisher SouthPeak Games (which seems like an extremely quick turn-around). Vice President of Marketing at SouthPeak Games, Richard Iggo said:
“World War II is such a common theme amongst games in the last ten years, but it’s truly rare to find a title that brings gamers into the visceral reality of what happened. Velvet Assassin excels in its ability to make players feel something more than just gameplay.”
And what is it that Velvet Assassin brings to the table? The game tells the tale of bed-ridden secret agent Violette Summer, told through a series of fevered dreams as she remembers her missions behind enemy lines during World War II.
Gamecock has announced Velvet Assassin will be available for the Xbox 360 as well as the PC this fall.
Formerly known as Sabotage, Velvet Assassin is being developed by Replay Studios. Set in Europe during World War II, Velvet Assassin is a stealth action game inspired by British agent Violette Szabo.
The game places players in the shoes of Violette Summer as she heads into battle with no official support from the British Government and seeks to defeat the Third Reich.
