Last week we reported that Uncharted NGP (working title) would be set between Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which was based on a claim that surfaced during a recent GameBlog.fr interview with Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra.
Sony has since corrected Balestra’s statement.
When I first read reports about Uncharted coming to NGP I was unsure if it was a remake of Uncharted 1 or an entirely new game. It soon became apparent that the latter case was true, and that Uncharted fans could enjoy a brand new storyline in the portable addition to this classic series.
The co-president of Naughty Dog - Christophe Balestra - offered new details about Uncharted NGP during a recent interview* with GameBlog.fr, saying that the game will take place between the events of Drake’s Fortune and Among Thieves. He also suggested that Uncharted NGP and the upcoming, mightily-anticipated Uncharted 3 will feature some kind of cross-compatibility.

Well we have, and it all sounds fantastic! But you know, all of those announcements for Uncharted 3 multiplayer have got us excited all over again for the multiplayer of Uncharted 2!
If the PlayStation Network is back up by 8pm (South African) tonight, members of El33tonline will be playing Uncharted 2 multiplayer to whet our appetite for the upcoming Uncharted 3 beta, as well as the release of the full game later this year.

So here’s the thing: We really enjoy playing Uncharted 2 multiplayer. So much so that for the last few weeks in a row for El33tonline’s El33t M33ts, we’ve indulged in (and tried to indulge in) the online portion of this inexplicably satisfying game to the detriment of all other titles.
And guess what? We’re doing it again this week!
That’s right: At 8pm (South Africa) on Thursday (April 14th), members of El33tonline will be playing Uncharted 2 multiplayer again! It’s just that much fun!

Brand new technology and gameplay details have just emerged for the just revealed Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, the third entry to Sony and Naughty Dog’s blockbuster action adventure series!
After revealing that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and the sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, have sold a combined 8 million units worldwide, Arne Meyer at Naughty Dog handed out some tasty morsels of information on the PlayStation Blog.

Have we just got first word of Naughty Dog’s next entry to the industry-crushing Uncharted franchise?
In a feature on consumer site Entertainment Weekly, a game by the name of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has been named as one of 2011’s games to look out for, following a visit by the outlet to Naughty Dog’s offices in Santa Monica, California.
There comes a moment in every gamer’s life when we sit back with satisfaction as the credits roll and think to ourselves: “That’s got to be one of the best games I’ve ever played.”
Unfortunately, just like you eventually get hungry after digging in at an all-you-can-eat buffet, that sense of satisfaction fades with time and an appetite for more gaming goodness gradually takes shape in your belly. The one thing that can get your adrenaline pumping and intensify that hunger is the announcement of a sequel or addition to this game series you’ve irrevocably pledged yourself to.
Think about how ecstatic Call of Duty fans get when a new game in the series is announced - they know it’s coming (one a year without exception it would seem) but that inevitability doesn’t seem to dampen their enthusiasm one iota.
I recently experienced this ‘hunger’ after completing Demon’s Souls for the second time. Although I have encountered people online (a PSN friend from Singapore springs to mind) who get endless hours of entertainment from this title’s cooperative and Player VS Player (PvP) features, I found myself craving new worlds to explore and new behemoths to take down (with a little help from fellow demon hunters of course).

There have been quite a few rumours and confirmations concerning the reality of an ‘Uncharted’ movie appearing at some point in the future, and naturally gamers everywhere would welcome a ‘big screen’ adaptation of one of the greatest games ever released – the series’ unique action, settings, adventure and story-focussed approach would no doubt make a perfect transition.
That’s why writer/director David O. Russell (Three Kings, The Fighter) has been tasked with bringing such an exciting project to life, but because the adventures of Uncharted are so character-centric, any potential movie would need to cast the ideal actors to truly do justice to franchise protagonist Nathan Drake, as well as all of his frenemies.
In an interview with MTV, it’s been revealed that none other than Mark Wahlberg has been cast in the starring role (i.e. Nathan Drake), and that Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro are also in talks to play parts.
Speaking about David O. Russell and his involvement in the Uncharted film, Wahlberg said:
Naughty Dog has taken the wraps off the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition. Just in time to commemorate that the popular title has sold over 3.8 million copies worldwide since the game was released just under a year ago, hosted over 125 million online multiplayer matches and won over 50 Game of the Year Awards.
The Uncharted 2: Game of the Year Edition will be available across North America on the 12th of October. The price tag will be $49.99 and for this you’ll get the game as well as a “super voucher” to download lots of excellent DLC worth over $35 from the PlayStation Network Store, including:
