EL33TONLINE: News tag archive: unboxing
Our fellow gamers in North America can get their fortunate hands on a PS Vita one week before launch (i.e. February 15th) if they pre-order the First Edition Bundle for $349.99 from selected retailers.
Battlefield 3 hasn’t even officially released yet and reports of its innards are already doing the rounds!
In a seemingly harmless and sincere unboxing video for the limited edition version of Battlefield 3, YouTube user Popogagnon uncovered a leaflet advertising something to do with Medal of Honor.
Gears of War 3 launches around the world tomorrow, September 20th, exclusively on Xbox 360 and we’re getting very excited over here at El33tonline HQ!
A little while ago we teased about what had recently arrived at the office, and now ahead of the game’s global midnight launch, here’s the full unwrapping - put some oil in that cog as we gear up for Gears of War 3!
Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is looking a likely candidate for the best and most explosive action adventure this year. Offering PS3 players gorgeous graphics, exotic locales and a script filled with both intrigue and the series’ trademark banter between the likeable cast, this game is sure to excite and entertain a broad audience when it releases in early November.
This particular release window is chockablock with titles competing for your hard-earned cash, so it’s important for publishers to differentiate themselves from the competition. Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has done just that by unveiling an awesome Collector’s Edition for Uncharted 3 with the help of celebrity voice actor Nolan North.
Although we’ve known about the existence of the Hero Edition of inFamous 2 for quite some time now, it’s time to get excited all over again now as Sony reveals the unboxing of this amazing offer.
Let the unboxing begin!
Nintendo’s glasses-free stereo 3D handheld, the 3DS, launches across Japan tomorrow, February 26th, and ahead of the release of the console some lucky fellows have recorded unboxing videos to show us what we can expect to find inside the box once it appears on Western retail shelves at the end of March.
Oddly enough, the two gentlemen in the first set of videos are not, in fact, Japanese, and speak in what is (to my ears) a Chinese dialect.
The visuals (and the excitement in their voices) are all you’ll really need to get out of these videos, however, as we get looks at the 3DS hardware and two games – Ridge Racer 3D and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition:
[Update] Added Killzone 3’s fantastic launch trailer a little ways below to celebrate properly! [End of Update]
Killzone 3 is prepped and ready for launch across North America today (and later this week around the world), and what better way to celebrate such a momentous occasion than with… an unboxing video?
Well… you could just go and read El33tonline’s review of Killzone 3 to get ready for this impressive shooter, or you can head on down below to read over the contents of the special Killzone 3 Helghast Edition box, which contains an enormous amount of extra goodies, including a Helghast cat helmet.
Then, you can watch the contents of the box become unboxed in an official PlayStation Blog video (Helghast cosplay included):
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is now officially available around the world, as you are reading this very text! Exciting, no?
With the launch of this Azeroth-shattering expansion comes the release of an epic ‘Collector’s Edition’ version of the game, and as with all epic limited edition offerings Mother Internet is usually subjected to the pain and weight of more than several new videos being added to her carriage – videos depicting the shameful act of unpacking one of these monstrous boxes!
These ‘unboxing’ videos (as I’ve chimed on in the past) are truly odious, but kind of addictive in some deep, long-forgotten way. All that’s missing from the experience is that wondrous ‘new booklet’ smell.
Scratch and sniff technology can only go so far.
Hey folks. Don’t be alarmed, but I’m here to remind you that ‘the ultimate racing simulator,’ Gran Turismo 5 for PlayStation 3, is all set and ready to officially release into the hands of gamers around the world… tomorrow.
No, this isn’t one of the signs of the apocalypse! Don’t panic! It’s just a videogame… a videogame we’ve been waiting on now for many years… a videogame that’s seen many delays… a videogame that promises perfection in basically every facet…
… perhaps Gran Turismo 5 is ‘the one’ that the prophecies foretold! Run for your lives!
Oh, before you do that, though, you can watch a couple of official unboxing videos posted up on the PlayStation Blogs to see what’s included in the collector’s editions of Gran Turismo 5, and you should also try and enjoy a few gameplay videos showcasing this hugely impressive game, including the opening cinematic.
Then you can run:
You love them, I hate them, but they’re usually interesting and amusing in some way that warrant a good look… of course I’m talking about those heinous ‘unboxing’ videos that videogame companies (and fans) insist on releasing for their big, blockbuster games, showing some poor fool laboriously unpackage a collector’s edition of some or other hot new title.
This new video revealing the ‘unboxing’ for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood Collector’s Edition is no different, but if I hate these videos so much, why do I insist on posting them up?
Yo… this collector’s edition comes with a key that activates a hideous jack-in-the-box! That’s why!
Check it out the video below:
During a panel at the ongoing San Diego Comic Con, Bungie revealed and showcased a few new features coming to Halo: Reach when it releases in September this year, in addition to the official announcement of that Halo: Reach Xbox 360 console bundle.
Who doesn’t enjoy a good videogame unboxing video?
I personally find them loathsome, but when they’re done professionally and tastefully, I don’t mind at all, which is definitely the case with this unboxing video straight from Remedy, as community manager Peter Papadopoulos carefully and lovingly shows us the contents of a Limited Collector’s Edition of Alan Wake.
Alan Wake releases tomorrow (May 14th) in the UK, Europe and South Africa, May 18th in the US, and May 20th in Australia, so there may still be time to get your hands on the limited edition version of the game shown in the video below:
