The latest news to hit the web is that Ninja Gaiden 3 will launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in March, with the Wii U version following sometime later next year.
Those of us who didn’t go to the Second Wave gaming event in Cape Town this past Friday definitely missed out on a raucous time - a fact that was revealed by attendees of the 2upGamers and Friends of Design hosted evening who immediately took to Twitter during and after the get-together to let the rest of South Africa know about the excellent activities, games and giveaways on offer.
Of course, El33tonline’s Lisa and Wayne were at Second Wave, too, and did their part to bring our brand of excitement and entertainment to the gamers of Cape Town with a presentation and lots of prizes, while Apex Interactive and Monster Energy were fully present with a host of games to show off and energy drinks to consume… respectively, that is!
So what did the people of the Mother City think of Second Wave? Here’s what you had to say on Twitter:
Last week select members of the press were invited to a PS Vita event in London where various PSV games and applications could be sampled. Twitter was one of the ‘Social Essentials’ applications on display, and the PlayStation Blog’s James Gallagher was there to test out its custom interface and touchscreen support.

Uncharted 3 and Gears of War 3 are both set to be the biggest blockbuster releases in videogaming this year, both releasing at the end of the year, and both exclusive to a single platform - both sure to be competing for your cash this holiday season.
That doesn’t mean that top developer talent working on these games can’t look forward to one another’s titles, and in a recent Twitter exchange, Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski (Gears of War) and Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells (Uncharted) remind us that, at heart, they’re just big ol’ videogame geeks like us.
[Update] It seems as though the ‘Free Weekend’ has been cancelled in the UK… details below. [End of Update]
Just a reminder: If you’re the proud owner of an Xbox 360 and you’ve been itching to find out what this ‘Xbox LIVE Gold membership’ is all about, then you’ve got an excellent opportunity to do so this weekend thanks to one of the service’s ‘Free Weekend’ offers.
Following the official launch of Xbox LIVE in South Africa in November last year, Xbox 360 South Africa has let us know that Facebook and Twitter functionality will become available to Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers on the local online service from today!
Additionally, a ‘My Community’ channel will be added to the LIVE Dashboard as part of an “ongoing commitment to providing quality gaming and entertainment in the living room.”
Even if you missed your chance to participate in the closed Killzone 3 multiplayer beta after those snooty PlayStation Plus subscribers across Europe and North America gobbled up 15 000 invites, it’s been revealed on the official Killzone website that eager PS3 gamers now have a second chance to get in on the taster.
But whoa, hold on there bucko! You’ll need a Twitter account first…
If Geoff ‘The Dean’ Keighley is to be believed, we could be eyeballing a snippet of multiplayer from Dead Space 2 as early as this Friday.
While it was a foregone conclusion that Mass Effect 3 is planned, as Bioware has said from the start that the series was mapped out as a trilogy, confirmation that the third entry to the franchise is currently in development has arrived in the standard fashion that these types of ‘announcements’ usually do nowadays – via Twitter.
Posting an update on her Twitter account, Bioware’s Christina Norman tweeted:
How sure is Lionhead boss and director of the Fable series of games, Peter Molyneux, that Fable III will include support for Microsoft’s motion sensing technology, Project Natal?
Molyneux is so sure that Lionhead’s upcoming RPG epic will support the tech, that he’s forgotten how to spell, as according to a recent Twitter tweet, he says:
Fable III got a new showing at the Game Developers Conference this year, and with it, a new set of screenshots were released by Microsoft and developers Lionhead to reveal one of the sections from the game – what looks to be an abandoned mine haunted by ghostly soldiers. Isn’t that always the way?
Lionhead’s Peter Molyneux, as usual, spilled a few more beans about the project, including the reveal that non other than British comedian and actor John Cleese will play the role of your in-game butler, in addition to the news that, in some form or another, Fable III will include support for the social messaging system, Twitter, as Molyneux says:
