Twisted Pixel has informed us that the studio is set to make Ms. Splosion Man “awesomer” starting tomorrow thanks to another themed in-game challenge that this time packs a meaty reward for top participants - a juicy Omaha Steak!
While the awesome Texas-based Xbox 360 developer (née indie developer) Twisted Pixel assures us that the team is hard at work on its next original game, new details have today been released regarding add-on content for the studio’s excellent Kinect title, The Gunstringer, with debut screenshots and a lively trailer included.
Microsoft Studios has acquired Indie game developer Twisted Pixel, the popular studio behind Xbox LIVE Arcade’s Splosion Man and The Gunstringer for Kinect.
Twisted Pixel’s latest awesome game, The Gunstringer, is now available in North America for Xbox 360 and Kinect, and launches later this week around the rest of the world to provide us with all of the undead cowboy marionette shooting action we can handle.
An undead marionette? Who is also a from-the-hip shooting cowboy? On Kinect?
We’re going to need to back up for a second before watching that launch trailer, folks.
The Gunstringer is definitely one of the most interesting and entertaining games I’ve ever played on Xbox 360. Filled with wacky humour and boasting an attractive, cartoony visual style, it’s a game which is all about having fun in front of your Kinect.
Twisted Pixel’s latest incredible platform game has been released and is now available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for a mere 800 MS Points, and in return for your Space Bucks not only will you get a game of amazing quality, challenge and delight in the form of Ms. Splosion Man, but you’ll be investing in future play sessions, too!
“You got a problem? Yo, she’ll splode it.”
Never a truer word has been spoken, because Twisted Pixel has unleashed Ms. Splosion Man unto the world… and she’s going to ‘splode it.
To accompany the release of Ms. Splosion Man on Xbox LIVE Arcade, Twisted Pixel has released a brand new (and awesome) trailer for the game featuring healthy looks at in-game action, as well as all of the amazing features including separate singleplayer and co-operative campaigns, ghost runs to challenge friends’ level times, and more:
Recently we discovered that Ms. Splosion Man would be coming to the Xbox LIVE Arcade on the 13th of July (that’s next week Wednesday!). Now indie-developer Twisted Pixel has stamped a price on their upcoming action platform game.
Twisted Pixel has today announced an official release date for the indie developer’s upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade action platform game, Ms. Splosion Man, the follow-up to 2009’s classic Splosion Man.
When Twisted Pixel’s follow-up to the fan-favourite Splosion Man was announced late last year in the form of Ms. Splosion Man (basically Splosion Man with a bow… basically), ‘surprise,’ ‘bemusement’ and ‘delight’ ensued.
If you were bemused, and you think that you know the world of monsieur Splosion Man (and by extension, the mademoiselle variant), you’ll need to watch this extensive developer walkthrough video showcasing gameplay from the new title in order to discover all of the brand new features, locations and characters.
The video runs for over ten minutes, so square away some time, sit back, relax and watch Ms. Splosion Man run, explode, skate, destroy, backchat and slide her way through a wonderful new 2D platforming world created by the folks over at Twisted Pixel:
When indie developer Twisted Pixel (Splosion Man, Comic Jumper) first announced and showed off its creative and inventive Kinect-powered Xbox 360 game, The Gunstringer, we were highly intrigued by this title and how the studio would take advantage of the benefits of controller-free gaming, while continuing to deliver a signature Twisted Pixel experience.
Now, thanks to today’s Microsoft Showcase event where Twisted Pixel is giving attendees hands-on time with The Gunstringer, we’ve been sent a handful of new screenshots for the game to get a better idea of what kind of action is included.
Twisted Pixel (Comic Jumper, Splosion Man), has just gone and announced the studio’s next title in the form of ‘The Gunstringer’ for Xbox 360 Kinect, an action game with elements of an arcade light-gun shooter.
In the game, you play as the titular ‘The Gunstringer,’ a skeleton cowboy character that you’re able to manipulate and control with your hands, like a puppeteer, using the Kinect for motion recognition.
[Update] This just keeps getting better! A debut trailer for Twisted Pixel’s latest game has been released! Check it out below! [End of Update]
We’ve been patiently waiting for close on two weeks now for downloadable game masters Twisted Pixel to announce the studio’s next fantastic title, and now, finally, the developer has obliged by revealing the existence of a follow-up to 2009’s action platform and puzzle game, Splosion Man.
The name of this follow-up? Ms. Splosion Man.
Twisted Pixel released the following excellent press release, reproduced here in full due to the aforementioned excellence:
Indie game developer Twisted Pixel has rapidly become one of the ‘go to’ studios for original, creative and humorous titles, starting with the excellent action adventure game, The Maw, in early 2009, continuing on with the awesomeness of ‘Splosion Man later that year, and capping it all off with the 2010 release of the brilliant Comic Jumper.
Now, Twisted Pixel is teasing the announcement of the company’s fourth mystery game with a countdown clock on its website, with the reveal set to happen on December 2nd.
But… maybe it’s not the studio’s fourth game. Maybe it’s something else?
Twisted Pixel recently announced that the team has crafted an epic soundtrack for their most recent Xbox LIVE Arcade game, Comic Jumper, while letting everyone know that it can be found on their website right now.
But the best news about the announcement is that this Comic Jumper soundtrack is absolutely free!
Here’s a bit of additional cool news from Twisted Pixel’s marketing director, Jay Stuckwisch:
