The official news has been coming for a while, but Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group have recently confirmed that the next block-imbued adventures of Batman and co. will become available later this year in the form of LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.
The burning question on my mind when I cracked open the box was do we really need a LEGO game about Pirates to tide us over?
I am pleased to say that the answer to that question is a resounding yes! With LEGO games the building blocks to a successful title have always been about offering a high quality adventure for gamers of all ages and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean not only keeps up with this creed with its polished and inimitable rendition of our favourite pirates, but in some ways actually manages to even raise the bar for all future LEGO games!

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and TT Games have just announced that LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 will be available at the tail-end of this year across all formats, continuing the block-based adventures of Harry Potter while covering the stories of the last three books in the franchise (or the last four films, as you please).
It’s demo time on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace as a gameplay sample for LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean has just hit Xbox 360 online service!
What will you be getting up to in the 952 MB appetiser? Let this official description clue you in:
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest game in a long-line of TT Games that transforms a fan-favourite franchise into the wonderful world of blocks and props, and if the studio is to be believed, its next game is going to be the best yet with advances on the classic LEGO game formula, massive visual improvements and new gameplay additions.
As always, that trademark TT Games humour is present and accounted for, and you can get a taste of that wit and fun with a brand new trailer and a huge batch of screens for LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean:
Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is the latest entry in the successful franchise by Traveller’s Tales where cult classics are given the ‘Lego treatment.’ These include Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean. The games include humorous, voiceless skits in-between gameplay scenarios which tie in with the plots of the intellectual properties on which they are based. The characters and vehicles in these titles resemble Lego creations and the games are always child friendly.
This time round the game is based on the first two seasons of The Clone Wars TV series, the film by the same name, as well as Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. So don’t get confused by the ‘III’ in the title and think it refers to Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith!

As LEGO games go, this one looks to be shaping up very nicely indeed, absolutely jam-packed with action, exciting exploits and humour befitting a game from TT, all while letting you relive the story of the three previous Pirates of the Caribbean movies, as well as the upcoming fourth film, ‘On Stranger Tides.’
Watch the latest trailer for LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game to catch a few glimpses at what you’ll be doing in the game, with tons of great humorous action included:
On the back of the announcement of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game in early February with a fantastic teaser trailer and the game’s first images, a brand new debut trailer has been set loose with a new clutch of screenshots for company.
This latest trailer reveals some of the LEGO-themed action gamers will take part in during the game, the luscious visuals (in a LEGO game?!) and, of course, the awesome humour that we expect from a TT Games title. Looks like amazing fun!
While a demo for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars was recently released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, and we have confirmed release dates for both of these platforms, question marks were hanging over the release window for the 3DS iteration of TT Games and LucasArts’ latest LEGO-themed adventure game.
No more, though.
A demo for TT Games and LucasArts’ latest LEGO-themed action adventure game, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, has just hit Xbox LIVE Marketplace, giving you a chance to get to grips with the game in environments based in space and on terra firma.
When LEGO Star Wars III was first announced, director at TT Games Tom Stone commented that “The team at TT is working hard at making this simply the best LEGO game ever with all new gameplay and features never before seen in a LEGO game,” and now that this title is due for release real soon (March 22nd in the US and March 25th in Europe and the UK), you can decide on the developer’s efforts for yourself with the taster.
Get yourself up to speed on LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars below with trailers, screenshots and an official demo description:
LucasArts and TT Games have announced that development is underway for LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. The game will be available for the Wii, DS, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 in fall 2010.
LEGO Star Wars III promises to “combine the best elements of all previous LEGO games while adding brand new gameplay to make it the most action-packed LEGO videogame to date.” The same Traveller’s Tales team that created the LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones series will be in charge of development duties for LEGO Star Wars III.
Batman and Robin aren’t the only ones doing a dance of joy, Warner Bros are too. This after news that LEGO Batman: The Videogame has sold over one million copies across all formats in the UK since the game was launched in 2008.
The LEGO franchise has proved to very popular (and lucrative) in the videogame arena, with LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, LEGO Rock Band and LEGO Harry Potter adding to the legacy of developer TT Games.
TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have announced a new LEGO title that will be making its way to the DS later this year, LEGO Battles.
LEGO Battles will include three of the themes that the physical LEGO building blocks have become known for, namely LEGO Castle, LEGO Pirates and LEGO Space. LEGO Battles will allow players to customise and build their own LEGO sets, while battling through six storylines and 70 levels.
At the same time, LEGO Battles allows all of the three themes to intermingle with one another – pirates VS knights VS ninjas VS dragons VS space ships. The ultimate combination! TT Games publishing Managing Director, Tom Stone enthused:
“Lego Battles offers players the action-packed and humor-filled gameplay that make Lego games great, along with the added bonus of linked multiplayer battles on DS.
“We are excited to introduce a new LEGO videogame experience to fans and young gamers and look forward to expanding upon the beloved toy lines.”
LEGO Battles is expected to release in the UK this summer.
