EA has revealed its line-up for next week’s E3 expo, and we’re sure you will agree that it’s going to be a real cracker! There will be racers, there will be shooters, there will be sports game and there will even be Sims games!
The publisher’s media briefing will be held on Monday at 2PM PDT and if you tune in you’ll be able to see news and demonstrations for Medal of Honor, Need for Speed, Dead Space 2, EA Sports Active 2 and The Sims 3 for console as well as EA Sports MMA and titles from EA Partners, Crytek and Epic.
EA has released an excellent looking launch trailer for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, which became available for the Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 and iPhone across the US yesterday.
The next iteration of the publisher’s popular golfing sim includes the prestigious Ryder Cup golf tournament in-game and support for Sony’s PS3 motion controller and Nintendo’s Wii MotionPlus. However, support for Microsoft’s upcoming Project Natal motion detection device for the Xbox 360 hasn’t been announced for the game yet.
Earlier this month EA announced its plans to implement an ‘Online Pass’ system for all EA Sports games going forward, beginning with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, which will require gamers to buy an original copy of a game in order to receive a code to access online play. Failing this (an original, not second-hand, purchase), gamers will need to buy access to online play (and further premium content and online features) for $10.
THQ has now announced that a similar system will be in place for the publisher’s upcoming mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting game, UFC Undisputed 2010.
Mimicking the recent update to the US PlayStation Store, the new content soon to become available on the European PlayStation Store today is similarly exciting and interesting, with demos for ModNation Racers (for both the PS3 and PSP), a demo for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 for PS3, downloadable content for a range of different games, and the usual batch of interesting videos, themes, wallpapers and Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks.
Also of note are the special price offers currently on the go (Critter Crunch is half price!), and downloadable PSP games in the form of ModNation Racers, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands and Armoured Core 3 Portable.

It’s another great content update for the US PlayStation Store this week, as the promised PS3 demo for ModNation Racers appears, flanked by an enormous amount of downloadable content for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Record of Agarest and Split/Second, as well as demos for Iron Man 2 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.
New games on the service today include Rocket Knight, The Price is Right and the second episode of the new Sam & Max season for PS3, while Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is now available to purchase and download for PSP.

Xbox mouthpiece Major Nelson has announced that a demo for EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 has hit Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and is currently available for download for Xbox LIVE Gold members.
What’s included in the 2GB demo for the golfing sim? Er-um… perhaps one of the following:
EA has this year been trying a variety of experiments in order to ensure players of its games buy the publisher’s titles new at retail, rather than second-hand or even through playing them through rental. The company’s main trick so far has been to include codes in the retail boxes of its games that users are able to enter online in order to access downloadable content released after the launch of the game in question.
So far, we’ve seen free content being delivered in this way for Mass Effect 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2, amongst others, but now that EA seems comfortable that the experiments may be working, this method of rewarding gamers for an original purchase of the company’s games is set to be extended to all EA Sports titles on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in the future in the form of the ‘Online Pass.’
After Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 was dated and detailed yesterday, a large batch of screenshots and a pair of trailers for the game have bounded obediently behind to show you what the next iteration of EA’s golfing sim looks like in motion, and in picturesque stills.

EA has today announced a solid release date for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (which will feature the prestigious Ryder Cup golf tournament in-game) while also revealing that the game will support Sony’s PS3 motion controller, in addition to the Wii MotionPlus for the Wii version.
In Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11, players will be able to compete in The Ryder Cup by selecting a team from either the US or European squads and take part in a variety of competition formats to eventually (and hopefully) win the biennial event in-game.
Players will also be able to participate in a 24-person team-match online via Xbox 360 or PS3 and strategise with one another over Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network.
EA has today put to rest any doubts regarding the publisher’s working relationship with golfing superstar Tiger Woods, by announcing that we can expect the arrival of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 a little later this year, while golfing enthusiasts are now able to participate in the Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online open beta, starting today.
