We have always agreed that most movie tie-in games are bad. So where possible I avoid contact with them at all times. But what are you supposed to do when you look forward to a new comic book movie enough to volunteer to play the game before you see the movie… and then said game is so off-putting that you don’t actually feel like watching the movie anymore? That’s exactly what happened to me when I played Thor God of Thunder.
Thor the game is not actually tied to the movie in any way other than the same actor playing Thor. The location is different, as are the story and enemies - I know this because Natalie Portman makes no appearance in the game. Plus the back cover reads “original adventure.” This might be a saving grace for the movie, so not all is lost.

For the second week in a row, Valve Software’s Portal 2 has claimed the top position on Chart Track’s UK Software Sales listing, proving that ‘testing’ can actually be quite popular if put in the right context.
This despite a 51% drop in sales compared to the week previous!
We haven’t heard much about SEGA and Marvel’s Thor: God of Thunder, but following the showing of a debut gameplay trailer for the action adventure title at the Spike Video Game Awards 2010, we’ve got a much better idea of what to expect when the game launches on May 3rd next year.
