The Tester is a free reality show exclusive to the PlayStation Network. Contestants compete in challenges which test various skills such as dexterity, creativity, communication and the ability to work in a team - attributes which a game tester needs to possess in order to be a success at their job.
Season 3 of the popular show was recently announced via the PlayStation Blog and the prize the winner takes home this time around should give any PS fanboy shivers down their spine - a “production job” at Santa Monica Studios (the Sony-owned developers behind the awesome God of War series).
If you haven’t had the opportunity to play WipEout HD just yet, now might be the time because on the US PlayStation Store (and as part of the continuing Spring Fever celebration), the futuristic hover racer has had its price reduced down to $9.99 (normally $19.99). Just go for it!
Other highlights on the US PlayStation Store include a demo for Skate 3, the downloadable games Final Fight: Double Impact and Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse – Episode 1: The Penal Zone, a few price updates, and the usual assortment of add-on content, interesting videos and Guitar Hero and Rock Band downloadable tracks.

The US PlayStation Store Update this week includes a great offering of price updates in the store’s ongoing Spring Fever celebration, with price reductions on Killzone 2 downloadable content, and Killzone: Liberation for the PSP (available until the 14th of April).
As for regular content, the finale for The Tester reality show is now up, where the final contestant winner has been decided and will go on to get themselves a quality assurance position at Sony.

The US PlayStation Store has a few new interesting pieces of content, headed up by this year’s Spring Fever celebration, with price discounts on Gravity Crash and Everyday Shooter this week, with more deals and discounts coming down the pipe in the coming weeks.
The Store also has some new downloadable games in the form of Wakeboarding HD and Section 8, and special offers on Blue Toad Murder Files, while a host of add-on content also makes an appearance as LittleBigPlanet gets a bunch of Sonic-themed costumes, MAG gets a free DLC pack, a new track pack shows up for DJ Hero.

The latest PlayStation Store update for the US brings with it some interesting items, including (but not limited to) special price offers for 1942: Joint Strike and ecoshift, and a permanent price drop for Trine.
Also included today is the fifth episode of the reality ‘TV’ show, The Tester, the Aliens VS Predator Swarm Map Pack, the Dragon Age: Origins Awakening expansion, and a new downloadable PSP game called Patchwork Heroes.

The US PlayStation Store has been updated for the week with a bevy of awesome content, the likes of which you’ve never seen, or at the very least, you’ve never seen this exact content before, as (what sounds like) like the excellent Mega Man 10 arrives on the store, as well as downloadable content (DLC) for Bioshock 2, entitled the Sinclair Solutions Pack.

This week’s US PlayStation Store Update is chock-full of content, with demos for Just Cause 2, Major League Baseball 2K10 and MotoGP 09/10, and tons of downloadable content (DLC) for games like Dante’s Inferno, Resident Evil and MLB 10: The Show, amongst others.

Sony has announced that its upcoming competitive reality series, The Tester, will be premiering on the PlayStation Network on the 18th of February.
The Tester sees gamers competing to win a job as a game tester on PlayStation’s first party development team, the team that introduced us to several popular franchises including God of War, Uncharted 2, LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo.
Ever wanted to work for PlayStation and test games? Well, now’s your chance! Sony has revealed its plans to create a new reality competition series for the PlayStation Network called The Tester.
The Tester will be a series of programs that follows a group of gamers facing off in various elimination challenges “designed to test their mental toughness, endurance, and video game knowledge as they compete for a job working as a PlayStation game tester.”
