Nintendo of America has done us all ‘a solid’ and revealed the scheduled line-up of games due for release across the Wii, DS and 3DS in North America from now until the beginning of June.
Highlights of the list? A release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (with Master Quest…for 3DS), and something called Wii Play: Motion (which comes standard with a WiiMote Plus).
Nintendo of America’s director of Public Relations Marc Franklin wrote:
No time to explain! Too many screenshots!
OK, I’ll explain a little bit!
In order to better plump up the release schedule for Nintendo’s 3DS handheld, the company is currently working on a few titles that long-time fans of Nintendo may get a little excited about.
We’re talking about re-releases of classic titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, Starfox 64, and what looks like a hybrid between Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart Wii (also known as Mario Kart DS).
Currently, these games exist as technology demos for the 3DS’s stereoscopic 3D ability, but represent games that Nintendo will in fact release at some point in the future.
Have a look at some released screenshots for these games below:
At PAX East over the weekend, former videogame journalist (now videogame consultant) N’Gai Croal and Kotaku deputy editor Stephen Totilo hosted an extremely interesting (and what sounded like an extremely entertaining) panel that tried something a little different in trying to come up with a ‘best ever’ list of games, by enlisting the help of not only the audience gathered to witness the panel, but a group of top industry luminaries who had agreed to help shape and evolve an original list into something they felt was a little more accurate.
The original list of top ten ‘best games of all time’ upon which these proceedings were based was taken from that currently registered at Gamerankings.com, based on reviews aggregated by that site. By the end of the panel, that list (which follows below) was barely recognisable:
