Following an announcement that the release of Conduit 2 from High Voltage and SEGA had been moved from late 2010 to early 2011, we haven’t heard a lot more about the next-best hope for first-person shooters on the Wii, but now the silence has been broken with an impressive debut gameplay trailer for the title.
The video contains a few healthy helpings of action from Conduit 2, and showcases a few of the “expansive environments” developer High Voltage is trying to squeeze out of the Wii, with footage of cooperative play and four-player splitscreen play in there too.
A release month of ‘February’ is also mentioned at the end of the trailer, although no specific day has yet been announced. Watch all of that below:
If you were looking forward to playing Conduit 2 sometime this year, you’re unfortunately going to be a little disappointed, as the next entry to High Voltage and SEGA’s first-person shooter franchise has been delayed until 2011.
A terrific collection of new screenshots for SEGA and High Voltage’s Conduit 2 have sprung forth from the ether of the internet, and landed on this very page to reveal that the Wii-exclusive first-person shooter contains a gigantic sea monster and brand new settings not seen in the first game.
For a Wii game, it’s still looking pretty sharp:
While there wasn’t much need to actually confirm the existence of Conduit 2 after it was revealed in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, it’s nice of SEGA and High Voltage to let people who don’t have access to the magazine know that it is, indeed, currently in development.
So yes: SEGA and High Voltage Software, the publisher and developer team that brought us the original The Conduit first-person shooter on the Nintendo Wii, will join forces once more to bring us Conduit 2 (which will once again be a Wii-exclusive title) this Fall.
According to videogame consumer website Nintendo Everything, a follow-up to last year’s Wii-exclusive first-person shooter The Conduit is currently in the works, and has been revealed in the latest issue of Nintendo Power.
Amongst the most intriguing details for The Conduit 2, currently in development at original developer High Voltage, is that the game is set in the fabled sunken city of Atlantis, as well as locations such as Siberia, Agartha (another legendary setting) and Washington D.C.
