If you loved the CG sequences in games like Final Fantasy VIII, Resident Evil 2 and Tekken 5 then you’re bound to be impressed by the trailer for the upcoming CG film Tekken: Blood Vengeance.
Although the CG movie market is dominated by kid-friendly titles like Toy Story 3 and Megamind, every now and then a more action-orientated film reaches us from Japan. These are often based on game franchises and include titles such as Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Resident Evil: Degeneration.
Which was your first Tekken? Was it Tekken 1 on the original PlayStation? Tekken 2? The original Tekken in the arcades?! Well, no matter which was your first, if you’re a gamer, you’re sure to have come across this extensive series at some point in your gaming career, with iterations in the arcades, the PlayStation 1 and 2 as well as the PSP.
If not, then Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, the new entry to the series, may very well be your first Tekken experience. While some say this one-on-one fighter was caught sagging in the middle, recent entries were a return to form, so Tekken 6 has a lot of heritage to keep up and improve upon, as well as some stiff competition in the form of Soul Calibur IV and the upcoming Street Fighter IV. Will it manage?
