Capcom has revealed the final character to be included in the company’s upcoming Super Street Fighter IV, who appears in the form of a super buff, super oily combatant by the name of Hakan, and if you were looking forward to a character who adds more solemnity and seriousness to the Street Fighter universe… this guy is about as opposite of that direction as you can get.
Using his incredibly greasy body (which he makes sure to keep as slippery as possible with regular and generous applications of oil), Hakan employs a grappling fighting technique to squeeze his opponents into the air and along the ground, and spin them around his body.
The first gameplay trailer for Hakan below almost reaches the levels of ridiculousness found in Muscle March for the Wii, which I entirely condone. Watch below:
A brand new batch of Super Street Fighter IV gameplay videos and trailers have been unleashed for your viewing pleasure, this time revealing the presence of characters first introduced in the Street Fighter III series, namely the karate master Makoto, the boxer Dudley, and the overall martial artist Ibuki.
There are four trailers and gameplay videos from Super Street Fighter IV revealing these characters, and their moves, awaiting your inspection below:
Capcom has revealed the box art for Super Street Fighter IV, the new and improved version of the excellently updated Street Fighter IV.
Super Street Fighter IV will include new characters, ultra combos, and online modes, as well as the return of the classic bonus stages and retuned offline and online gameplay.
To tide you out until the game’s release (April 27th in North America and April 30th in Europe) you can enjoy two new trailers for the game below, as well as the box art.
Super Street Fighter IV, the new and improved version of the excellently updated Street Fighter IV, will be releasing at the end of April this year in Europe and North America on PS3 and Xbox 360, Capcom recently revealed.
Last week saw the announcement of three of the new (but old) characters to appear in Super Street Fighter IV, in the form of some scans from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, but now we have proper visual confirmation by way of a new trailer to show off Cody, Guy and Adon in motion.
The upcoming Street Fighter IV revision, arriving early next year, also includes characters such as T. Hawk, Dee Jay and Juri, who are also featured in the colourful, crushing trailer below:
Revealed in the latest issue of Japanese game mag Famitsu, and in scans posted up on SiliconEra (yes, again), three new additions to Super Street Fighter IV’s fighter roster have been confirmed in the form of original Street Fighter Adon, and Final Fight’s Cody and Guy, both of whom made their first appearance as a playable character in the Street Fighter franchise during the Street Fighter Alpha series.
Check out the full Famitsu scans below:
Last week, the news surfaced that Super Street Fighter IV would include a number of additional modes to test players’ fighting abilities over and above the normal one-on-one fighting.
It was only possible to sneak glimpses of these modes in tiny, low resolution magazine scans, however, but now we have full-blown video evidence revealing the existence of classic mini-games, such as car destruction and barrel beating, which first appeared in the very first iterations of Street Fighter when the series was but a youngling.
Also shown in the video below is what appears to be an audience mode (did I mention the video was in Japanese?), allowing spectators to watch two players battle it out, amongst other new modes:
In order to get Street Fighter fans frothing even more for the recently announced Super Street Fighter IV, Capcom has released an extended teaser trailer for the game, as well as a batch of official screenshots.
Super Street Fighter IV is set to release in Spring next year as a standalone, disc-based title, as opposed to downloadable content for the already existing Street Fighter IV, and will add eight new characters and a bevy of fixes, tweaks and improvements to the original game.
Continue on down below to see the rest of the screenshots, as well as that extended trailer. You can also stay for a little while longer and watch shaky-cam footage of some in-game action, and see new characters T. Hawk, Dee Jay and Juri crushing their opponents:
[Update] Watch a video interview with Super Street Fighter IV’s producer, Yoshinori Ono, after the jump.
A very quick teaser video went up recently on Capcom’s Japanese site, revealing glimpses of watercolour-smattered fighting scenes similar to those of their latest Street Fighter game, Street Fighter IV.
This obviously lead to speculation that a new Street Fighter game was on the horizon from Capcom, and what else would they call this game? Why, Super Street Fighter IV, of course.
Capcom has now confirmed that Super Street Fighter IV indeed exists, and will be a standalone title heading out to PS3 and Xbox 360 in Spring next year. What’s new in the game, though?
