I’ve heard a couple of people remark that Asura would make a great addition to the Street Fighter roster due to his distinctive character design and hyperbolic aggression. While Capcom hasn’t announced anything at this stage, a new trailer for Asura’s Wrath detailing upcoming DLC for the game reveals that you’ll soon be able to square off against two characters from Street Fighter IV.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan is showing off a couple of interesting additions to Home, Sony’s online social interaction experience.
If you’re a fan of either Resident Evil 5 or Street Fighter, you’ll get a kick out of this, as not only are Sony releasing costumes for characters from the two games, there’s going to be an entire space dedicated to Resident Evil 5, made in the likeness of the Kijuju village we’ve seen so much of.
Although there’s no telling if this will make it to Western PS3’s any time soon, if ever, you can have a look at some more screenshots below to tide you over:
Uh-oh, here comes the next live-action Street Fighter movie. Anyone who remembers the first attempt at setting the zany Street Fighter world to live-action (Jean-Claude Van Damme as Guile, Kylie Minogue as Cammy…) will still have a sour taste in their mouths, but now we should all look forward to the next one.
Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li is, as the title would have you believe, the story of Chun Li (played by Smallville’s Kristin Kreuk) and foregoes the ‘all star cast,’ focusing primarily on her rise to prominence and showing off a few antics in the process.
While the trailer doesn’t look bad, per se, it doesn’t look ‘blockbuster thrilling’ either. You can make up your own mind after watching below (the voice-over is in Japanese, but the action speaks for itself):
If you are a Smallville fan you will recognise 25 year old actress Kristin Kreuk who plays Clark Kent’s first girlfriend Lana Lang in the popular TV series.
Kreuk also landed the role of Chun Li in the upcoming Street Fighter live-action movie. When asked about her martial arts skills, she replied “Pretty decent. I did karate, dance and gymnastics when I was growing up so I was good at the wire work for the fight scenes.”
She spent five weeks training with stunt co-ordinators for the Street Fighter role. “I don’t know if I could kick your ass if we met on the street but I’m decent at looking like I’m good at fighting.”
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li is scheduled to be released in 2009.

Last week in the comments section of SCEA’s PlayStation Blog, Capcom’s John Diamonon revealed that a Street Fighter surprise would be unveiled yesterday and available on Thursday.
True to their word Capcom’s Senior Product Marketing Manager on SFIV, known as Gerald, yesterday announced on Capcom’s Blog that Street Fighter Alpha would be available as a new PSone Classics game for download on the PlayStation Network this Thursday.
The reaction to the announcement has been mixed, with some gamers lapping up new content but most bitterly disappointed that the surprise did not relate to Street Fighter IV. Many SF fans seem to have anticipated that the surprise in store related to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, or more particularly the beta for the game that is only available to Xbox 360 owners.
PS3 fans have been left in the cold following Capcom’s decision to make the beta available exclusively on Xbox Live Arcade. Recently the beta was extended and a patch released to fix problems that dogged the beta from the get go. This seems to have rubbed salt in the wound of some gamers who feel the beta should have been made available to PS3 owners as well.
Games Radar, up until a little while ago, was reporting that Capcom had announced a new entry in their much revered Street Fighter series of games. Now, I don’t know anyone that’s played Street Fighter 1 or 3, but just about every gamer has at least tried to play Street Fighter 2 in one incarnation or another (of a possible 300), so this is big news.
While their article has been removed, ostensibly due to embargoes on the information until officially announced, by some internet magic there is a trailer up on YouTube that looks to be the real thing (although it’s all CG for now, no in game graphics). Hopefully we’ll get more information from Capcom soon, but for now their site is not forthcoming (or even loading for me). This could be their big reveal hinted at before, since it is quite universally agreed that Bionic Commando was not it.
There were some other announcements in the Games Radar story, but we will wait until they are official or confirmed in some manner.
