The winner of this year’s Writers Guild of America Award was recently announced to be Ubisoft’s excellent Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, beating back the writing efforts contained in other nominated games such as God of War III, Fallout: New Vegas, Singularity and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.
The nominations for this year’s Writers Guild Awards have been announced by the Writers Guild of America, with God of War III, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, two Ubisoft titles, an Activision game and a title from Bethesda Softworks all becoming finalists for what is becoming an impressive award, and which aims to recognise the best story and dialogue writing in 2010.

I’m going to come swinging right out the gate here and say I wasn’t much impressed with Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. It’s repetitive, the combat is frustrating and unresponsive, production values are all over the place, and it’s a very short experience.
But boy, does it have some great CG cinematics!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II hits store shelves throughout the course of next week, starting with an invasion of North American soil on October 26th, and culminating in a blitz across Europe and the UK on October 29th.
PC gamers will be keen to know that this new action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe isn’t limited to the reaches of console owners – you lot will also be able to take on the guise of Starkiller and go on a tour of destruction with incredible Force powers.

Can you believe it’s that time of the week again? That’s right folks, it’s time for the US PlayStation Store update!
This week you can look forward to a Halloween Collection with Burn Zombie Burn, Silent Hill as well as Halloween-themed DLC and themes. If you weren’t yet looking forward to the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II in a few week’s time, and if you’re still feeling a bit burned by the… ‘experience’ of the first Force Unleashed game, then this newly released cinematic and gameplay trailer for LucasArts’ next Jedi-imbued action adventure game is going to make a believer of you.
Whether it’ll turn you to the Dark Side, or if it convinces you to step into the Light… the jury is still out on that.

If there’s one thing that everyone can agree on when it comes to the original Star Wars: The Force Unleashed action game, it’s that the cinematics were incredible and helped players believe that they were taking part in an epic, classic Star Wars adventure.
If this recently released teaser cinematic for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is anything to go by, the sequel is going to deliver scenes that are just as enthralling and enjoyable as its predecessor. Let’s hope it has the gameplay to match:
