Last week we got a bit of a teaser regarding an upcoming reveal for Kinect Star Wars, the next attempt to let gamers finally take on the role of a Jedi Master using nothing more than our own body movements.
More recently, an impressive trailer has become available showcasing two young fellows demonstrating Kinect Star Wars, playing what appears to be a third-person action game imbued with Lightsaber swinging abilities, as well as kicking, jumping, Force power use, space battles and… pod racing.
When Microsoft first unveiled its motion-tracking technology for Xbox 360 in Kinect, the immediate thought was: Can it do a Star Wars game?!
When it comes to motion technology in games, this knee-jerk reaction isn’t uncommon as gamers have desperately been waiting to see what the Wii, and similarly, the PlayStation Move, can do to fulfil our Star Wars fantasies.
Thankfully, Microsoft and Terminal Reality have been thinking about this, too, and will be bringing a Star Wars Kinect game to us (hopefully) soon, and will be part of a showcase for the device at this year’s Microsoft E3 press conference.
The thing is… can the game live up to the awesomeness of this teaser video? R2-D2’s electronic scream gets me every time:
