When Microsoft first unveiled its motion-tracking technology for Xbox 360 in Kinect, the immediate thought was: Can it do a Star Wars game?!

When it comes to motion technology in games, this knee-jerk reaction isn’t uncommon as gamers have desperately been waiting to see what the Wii, and similarly, the PlayStation Move, can do to fulfil our Star Wars fantasies.

Thankfully, Microsoft and Terminal Reality have been thinking about this, too, and will be bringing a Star Wars Kinect game to us (hopefully) soon, and will be part of a showcase for the device at this year’s Microsoft E3 press conference.

The thing is… can the game live up to the awesomeness of this teaser video? R2-D2’s electronic scream gets me every time:

Microsoft LogoMicrosoft’s E3 2010 press conference wrapped up a little while ago, and included some great announcements, reveals and showings of many different games and new hardware.

Below, you can get good looks at new reveals for games like Halo: Reach (singleplayer), Call of Duty: Black Ops, Gears of War 3 and Fable III, as well as debut titles Metal Gear Solid: Rising, Kinectimals, Joy Ride, Kinect Adventures, Forza Kinect, Dance Central, Kinect Star Wars and Codename Kingdoms.

New Star Wars Game Teaser

A teaser trailer for the next videogame in the Star Wars universe has been released in anticipation of the full reveal and premiere of the game at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards ceremony on December 12th this year.

For better or worse, the snippets of the game on show in the teaser look more like a new entry to the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed series of games, rather than a new Star Wars: Battlefront or Knights of the Old Republic.

Star Wars LogoStar Wars fans rejoice because Nintendo will be releasing multiple LucasArts Super Nintendo games on to the Wii’s Virtual Console this month.

Super Star Wars is the first to arrive, followed by Super Stars Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in the coming weeks. Each of the games will cost 800 Wii Points.

The debut trailer for a new Star Wars game, Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, has been released, showing off in-game footage from the title, which is seemingly heading out to all platforms (excluding Wii and DS at the moment).

Clone Wars: Republic Heroes apparently takes place betweens seasons one and two of the Star Wars – The Clone Wars animated series, and matches the style used in-game. Watch the debut trailer below:
