Last week, September 14th, Microsoft’s Halo: Reach released in the UK (and around the world) and effortlessly provided the company with its biggest ever launch week in the region, and added up to the 5th biggest launch in the UK ever.
The only games that stood in the way of Halo: Reach’s ability to become the number one biggest launch are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions), GTA: San Andreas (PS2) and GTA IV (Xbox 360).
Today is the day that the PlayStation 3 finally gets motion control of its own in South Africa and the UK, with the release of the PlayStation Move Motion Controller, as well as a range of games that take full advantage of the new peripheral.
After receiving our PlayStation Move press kit around two weeks ago, complete with a Motion Controller and a selection of games, members of El33tonline were able to get some good hands-on time with the device and form our opinions on the core experience Sony will be delivering this week around the world.

Sports Champions is one of the launch titles for the PlayStation Move. It’s a collection of six sports mini-games, each designed to showcase the motion capabilities of Sony’s new technology. As with most sports mini-games you’ll soon have your favourites, but that doesn’t detract from the high quality title and fun that the game delivers.
We all know that Nintendo has enjoyed overwhelming success with its sports mini-games to date, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are two cases in point. So what’s the secret behind their successful formula and has Sony managed to pull it off? A good balance between fun and accuracy seems to be the answer, something which Sports Champions manages to deliver effectively.

Sony’s PlayStation Move motion device for the PlayStation 3 has been dated and priced for North America, Europe and Japan, and will be launching worldwide from mid-September until the end of October.
New videos have surfaced featuring the newly announced PlayStation Move launch games in motion, giving you some good glimpses at titles such as Dukes (aka Motion Fighters, a working title), TV SuperStars, Sports Champions and Move Party (also working titles) and The Shoot, as well as the Motion-enabled versions of EyePet, LittleBigPlanet and SOCOM 4.

During the recent press conference that revealed Sony’s PS3 Motion Controller to be named ‘PlayStation Move,’ the publisher also revealed a number of launch titles that would accompany the device into the market when it launches in the Fall of this year.
In addition to the announcement that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 would support PlayStation Move, and the fact that SOCOM 4 will also be playable with both the PlayStation Move and Subcontroller configuration, Sony will be releasing its own stable of titles to keep gamers happy, from the hardcore with titles like Dukes and The Shoot, to casual and family friendly titles like Move Party, Sports Champions (working titles) and TV SuperStars.
