Why would the developer/publisher pair provide such an offer? To celebrate the addition of new community tools!
Around the same time that Bethesda Softworks officially announced its new romance with Splash Damage the couple promptly revealed that they were already working on a new baby. Anxious fans received much in the way of screenshots, concept art, developer diaries, in-game demo’s and a long list of planned features… but also protracted delays. After two years of unbridled anticipation, Brink has finally arrived!

From the looks of those stats, Brink players have been busy indeed, and now Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players of Brink will be able to track and view statistics like these for the game, and more, including “in-depth players stats, match summaries, and the Battle for the Ark – a weekly meta-game between Security and Resistance.”

Developer Splash Damage has let us know that title updates are now available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Brink, while detailing plans for upcoming downloadable content and the ‘statistics site’ page for the consoles.
Bethesda Softworks and Splash Damage’s singleplayer/multiplayer hybrid first-person shooter by the name of Brink released this week in North America, and is due for release in the UK tomorrow. You European folk may already have access to the game down your local retailer.
As with all new game releases, there are always going to be at least a few issues that hundreds of thousands of players are able to discover that the developers themselves simply weren’t able to find, and it’s no different with Brink, with ‘freezing’ problems, difficulties with online play and more.

With the release of Brink just around the corner (May 10th in North America and May 13th around the rest of the world), Bethesda Softworks and developer Splash Damage have been releasing walkthrough videos in quick succession to provide us with all of the information we’ll need to get ready for the first-person territory battles to come.

What does the word ‘smart’ mean to you? In the world of Brink, ‘SMART’ means ‘Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain,’ and in a new walkthrough video for the singleplayer/multiplayer hybrid first-person shooter this system is demonstrated as ‘Heavy,’ ‘Medium’ and ‘Light’ body types are shown vaulting, wall-hopping and mantling all over the place.

The first of a series of Brink walkthrough videos has been released to help us get to grips with ‘The Basics’ of this fast-paced first-person shooter, teaching us about three game modes (Campaign, Free Play and Challenges), the different classes and their abilities, how we can earn experience points, and what all of the icons on the heads-up display (HUD) mean.

Brink releases on May 10th in North America and May 13th everywhere else for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Brink is what you could call a ‘hybrid’ game in that it attempts to seamlessly blend singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay into one experience.

After a recent event held in Utah (hosted by Brink’s publisher, Bethesda Softworks), a brand new collection of amazing screenshots is now available, while consumer site VG247 had a chat with Paul Wedgwood of developer Splash Damage to find out a lot more about the story and features of Brink, with masses of gameplay footage included:
Bethesda Softworks has released the official PC system requirements for Brink, that mighty-looking first-person shooter from Splash Damage that hopes to deliver a revolution in the way you play by mixing fluid movement capabilities, opportunities for teamwork and a hybrid singleplayer/multiplayer experience together, all colliding in fresh new play spaces, customisation options and visceral gunplay.
In order to run all of this cool stuff, you’ll need a half-decent gaming PC, and with the release of the required system specifications you can find out if you’ll be able to play Brink at good clip when it releases on May 10th (in North America) and May 13th (everywhere else).
