EA has officially announced their new Medal of Honor first-person shooter, now set in modern-day warzones in Afghanistan, leaving the franchise’s World War II roots behind.
After the announcement from Ubisoft that a new Prince of Persia game is currently in the works, going by the moniker The Forgotten Sands, the publisher (and GameTrailers’ Geoff Keighley) has also revealed that the first footage from the game will debut at this year’s Spike TV Video Game Awards.
The Spike VGAs 2009 take place on December 12th, so be sure not to miss it if you want to see worldwide premieres of games such as Halo: Reach, the next new Star Wars game and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
A teaser trailer for the next videogame in the Star Wars universe has been released in anticipation of the full reveal and premiere of the game at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards ceremony on December 12th this year.
For better or worse, the snippets of the game on show in the teaser look more like a new entry to the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed series of games, rather than a new Star Wars: Battlefront or Knights of the Old Republic.
I’ve been wrong before, though, so have a look at the teaser trailer for yourself, below:
Spike TV’s Video Game Awards isn’t simply an evening to recognise amazing accomplishments within the realms of videogames and game development, it’s also the opportunity to catch glimpses of new footage from upcoming games, and to view premieres of never-before-seen games in action.
At this year’s VGAs, you’ll be able to watch the world exclusive first look at Bungie’s Fall 2010 game, Halo: Reach. Will we get to see some footage, or simply more teaser? We’ll have to wait and see, I guess.
Have a look at the VGA announcement trailer below and mark your calendars:
The seventh annual Spike TV Video Game Awards (VGAs) is set to take place on December 12th this year, and will recognise the best games, top development talent and the most anticipated upcoming titles across all platforms during the two-hour televised event.
Spike TV’s VGAs will also premiere never-before-seen titles and footage from hotly anticipated games, and announce new information regarding games from publishers and developers such as 2K, Activision, Disney Interactive Studios, Electronic Arts, LucasArts Entertainment, Microsoft Game Studios, THQ, Ubisoft, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and more.
