Fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog series have had plenty to keep themselves busy over the past few months thanks to the release of Sonic Generations in November followed shortly by Sonic CD. The next highlight on the Sonic release schedule is Sonic 4: Episode II - a co-op side-scroller featuring Sonic and Tails as they take the fight to Dr. Eggman and Metal Sonic on Little Planet.
If you’re currently undecided about which platform(s) to get Sonic 4: Episode II on then the latest update issued by Microsoft and Sega poses a strong argument for the Xbox 360 (via Xbox LIVE Arcade) and Windows Phone 7 versions.
Still only due for a digital release in the ‘Spring’ of 2012, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II has been getting bits and dobs of media to keep us interested since it was first formally announced at the beginning of the year, so it’s nice to get a new shower of screenshots today to remind us of its existence.
Look forward to the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II… sometime in the future on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and other digital destinations while perusing these new screens showcasing never-before-seen in-game locations:
If the first batch of Sonic 4: Episode II screenshots wasn’t enough to get you excited for its upcoming release, why not feast your eyes on the debut gameplay trailer for this splendiferous speedfest?
It’s possible that we weren’t meant to see these screenshots for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II just yet, but it’s pretty cool seeing Sonic’s faithful sidekick Tails in the game’s overhauled 3D graphical style, so… we’re going to put them up anyway.
SEGA has recently gone and confirmed rumours that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II is in the works and readying for release across consoles and mobile devices this year.
