Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and developer Acony Games have today announced Bullet Run, a new free-to-play online shooter for PC due for release ‘this Summer.’

Featuring persistent online elements and customisation at its core, Bullet Run is billed as a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter that is set apart by the conceit that players will be taking part in a reality TV game show (said to be “ultimate”) where contestants are tasked with demonstrating their aptitude for killing “in the name of fame.”

At El33tonline, we’ve been enthralled by the Uncharted series of action adventure games from Naughty Dog since the very first sampling as we embarked on high adventures, dangerous treasure hunts and epic journeys across the world in search of fortune. Not fame, so much.

In the wake of the still on-going PlayStation Network saga in which Sony Computer Entertainment’s online service has been taken down and personal user account information compromised, Sony has had to recently announce more bad news for those of you enjoying (or trying to enjoy) the range of games and services offered by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE).

Sony Online Entertainment LogoNot only is it possible that nearly 25 million user accounts have been compromised on SOE’s service due to malicious attacks by cyber criminals, the company has announced that the entire service has also been taken offline in light of this new information.

Sony Online Entertainment Logo Following rumours and reports across the internet recently, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) has confirmed the closure of its development studios in Denver, Seattle and Tucson.

As a result, 205 employment positions at SOE have been made redundant while the long-in-development massively multiplayer online action game The Agency has been cancelled in order to “focus development resources on delivering two new MMOs based on its renowned PlanetSide and EverQuest properties, while also maintaining its current portfolio of online games.”

Slam Bolt Scrappers sees players racing to combine coloured blocks into squares of the same colour. According to developer Fire Hose Games, you’ll need to “build big colored squares” which “form weapons that automatically attack your enemy’s tower.” Awesome!
