With E3 just around the corner now (June 15 - 17), Ubisoft has revealed a preview of its line-up for the expo.
The publisher’s booth will be located in the South Hall of the LA Convention Center and if you stroll past you’ll be able to see demos of the line-up for 2010 and beyond, including Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Shaun White Snowboarding, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, the next instalment of the Driver franchise as well as other titles that have yet to be announced.
It’s another interesting week for Xbox LIVE Marketplace’s Games on Demand service, which gives Xbox 360 gamers the opportunity to download current generation titles for a nominal fee.
This week, Games on Demand sees the addition of the well-received Shaun White Snowboarding, as well as the action-packing real-time strategy game, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Here’s a snippet from Shaun White Snowboarding’s description:
“Welcome to the open mountain, and get ready to experience the ride of your life. Conquer extreme peak conditions, create your own paths in the back country or compete with other riders in the terrain parks.
“The choice is always yours. Ride in a world where your friends are always around. Do your own runs on mountains populates by other gamers, or join them for a quick session.”

So, if you are keen to deck out your snowboarder in the latest gear, this is definitely for you. Head over to our review of Shaun White Snowboarding to see what the game is all about if you like.
Any serious boarder will tell you that snowboarding is more about lifestyle than it is about sport. Any gamer will tell you that good snowboarding games are more about fun than about lifestyle…and this is where Shaun White Snowboarding (SWS) misses the slopes.
I would say that SWS has been dealt a terrible hand in that it was guided in a direction by us, the gamers, with another franchise that was given glory by creating new methods within the extreme sports arena: SKATE. Bear with me for a minute. SKATE was released when the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise turned all Jackass on us all and lost its appeal. Along came EA and brought with it a more serious aspect to the sport with your analogue sticks mimicking the movement that your feet would recreate on a real skateboard – upping the realism and throwing out the arcade roots while they were at it. The game is now rated the best skateboarding game out there and Tony Hawk’s franchise has pretty much been dethroned.

The release of Shaun White Snowboarding is just around the corner and Ubisoft has detailed the soundtrack for the game.
The game is built around and in collaboration with Shaun White, Olympic and X-Games gold medalist, and the soundtrack features some of his favourite tunes including Audioslave, Bob Dylan and Kasabian.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will allow players to ride in open-world mountains across the world, whether that be conquering extreme peak conditions, creating your own paths in the back country or competing with other riders in terrain parks.
Players will be able to create customizable avatars before performing different tricks and riding styles using the dual analog control, both in single player mode and online. Gamers will also be able to do runs against their friends or other gamers or simply engage in a snowball fight, take a hike or share videos of your friends tricks by uploading your films.
The Wii version sees players traveling the world to participate in various events to become a famous athlete. Two to four players can enjoy the multiplayer aspect of the game with players using the Wii Balance Board to control their rides. You will be able to take on bigger challenges in new events and competitions as your fame grows. However, earning your friends respect by riding in style is also essential to the game as they will help you find hidden areas and share music tracks.
Shaun White Snowboarding will hit South African shelves on the 21st of November. The game will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, NDS, PSP, PS2 and PC.

Ubisoft has announced Shaun White Snowboarding will be arriving on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii sometime this holiday season.
The game is being developed in close collaboration with Shaun White (Olympic Gold Medalist and eight times X Games Gold Medalist) to “infuse the gaming experience with authenticity, personality and humor.” Shaun will mentor you in the game and help you with your skills.
The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be powered by the Assassin’s Creed engine and will be the first time a snowboarding game is completely driven by physics instead of animation. The game is being developed from the ground up for the Wii. The Wii version will incorporate use of the Wii Balance Board and feature a unique storyline.
