According to Xbox mouthpiece Major Nelson (he’s been really prolific with his posts today!), over one million Xbox LIVE users voted on your favourite Xbox LIVE Arcade games of 2009, from games like Trials HD and Splosion Man, to Battlefield 1943 and Shadow Complex, in categories such as ‘Best Original Game,’ ‘Best Graphics’ and ‘Best Innovation.’
The results of the voting follows below:
Lara Croft’s newly announced next adventure, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, has been priced for Xbox LIVE Marketplace, the PlayStation Network and PC, and will be releasing this Summer according to developers Crystal Dynamics.
Well, Call of Duty: World at War continues its dominant winning streak at the top of the Xbox LIVE Activity list for the week of August 24th, while Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War 2 and Madden NFL 10 follow helplessly behind.
After the announcement that Shadow Complex has become the fastest selling game on Xbox LIVE Arcade, selling 200 000 copies in one week, it’s no surprise to see the game heading up the XBLA sales chart this week ahead of Trials HD and NBA 2K10 Draft Combine (?).
Regular No. 1 Xbox LIVE Indie game, I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1, meanwhile, manages to retain its spot at the top ahead of other regulars Headshot and Who Did I Date Last Night. Who indeed.
The full global list of top played Xbox Live games, original Xbox games and top selling XBLA and Xbox LIVE Indie Games follows below, all based on unique users and full versions purchased.
[Update] Watch the launch trailer for Shadow Complex after the jump.
Shadow Complex is this week’s Xbox Live Arcade offering, wrapping up the Summer of Arcade.
Developed by Chair Entertainment and produced by Epic Games, Shadow Complex is a full 3D side-scrolling action game that will set you back 1200 Microsoft Points.
Do you want free Xbox LIVE MS Points? Of course you do! How can you achieve such a thing? Well, all you need to do is buy all five of the upcoming and (released) games in this year’s Xbox LIVE ‘Summer of Arcade’ lineup, and you’ll get yourself 800 MS Points, free.
What games make up the official ‘Summer of Arcade’ game lineup? That just so happens to be a list of some great titles, namely the unique puzzle platformer Splosion Man, classic 2D fighter Marvel VS Capcom 2, a remake of the fan favourite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, a re-release of the physics-based motorcycle racer Trials HD, and the 2D perspective platformer from Epic and Chair, Shadow Complex.
Hurry, though – you’ll need to buy all five titles before the end of August 31st (11:59 pm ET). Also, you must be a resident of the US, which is kind of a bummer. Head on over here for the full list of terms and conditions.
