These past few weeks have been kind of busy, with all sorts of videogame information falling straight through the sieve as we juggled our prior engagements.
Not to mention other general activity.
As a result, there are a few pieces of news that we might have missed. Things like… release dates for upcoming games. Let’s try and catch up with some of the bigger release date announcements right now, shall we?
Serious Sam developer CroTeam and publisher Devolver Digital have announced that a series of Serious Sam-themed games developed by some of today’s top indie developers will be making their way to “everything from PCs to mobile platforms to consoles” in the next few months, leading up to the release of Serious Sam 3: BFE later this year.
Indie developers Mommy’s Best Games (Weapon of Choice, Explosionade), Vlambeer (Super Crate Box) and Be-Rad Entertainment (Lame Castle) have been tasked with re-imagining the world of Serious Sam in their own unique ways, and this is what each of the came up with:
“BOOM! That was the sound of Serious Sam 3: BFE news dropping. Croteam’s Serious Sam 3: BFE is a glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom.”
So began a press release heralding the official announcement of Croteam’s Serious Sam 3: BFE, the team’s next first-person extravaganza scheduled for release on PC and consoles this ‘Summer.’
