In the run-up to the release of Section 8: Prejudice on PlayStation 3 this past week, we realized that we had never actually reviewed the original game in the series, Section 8. In order to be fair and totally impartial we simply had to review the original. And my oh my, why did I miss out on this game? The only thing counting against it is the fact that everyone has moved on since 2009 and will most likely be playing the sequel.

Timegate Studios has announced that a sequel to 2009’s multiplayer-focussed first-person shooter, Section 8, is currently underway, and is set to improve upon the original game is just about every way possible.

Entitled Section 8: Prejudice, the new game from Timegate will release in early 2011, and will most probably be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC like its predecessor, although that hasn’t yet been confirmed.

PlayStation Network LogoThe European PlayStation Store, as is expected nowadays, is set to have a whole host of interesting (and exciting, even) content appear a little later today, with downloadable games like Final Fight: Double Impact and Section 8, a demo for Skate 3, a ton of special price offers, and more.

Also available today will be the highly anticipated downloadable content (DLC) for Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.

PlayStation Network LogoThe US PlayStation Store has a few new interesting pieces of content, headed up by this year’s Spring Fever celebration, with price discounts on Gravity Crash and Everyday Shooter this week, with more deals and discounts coming down the pipe in the coming weeks.

The Store also has some new downloadable games in the form of Wakeboarding HD and Section 8, and special offers on Blue Toad Murder Files, while a host of add-on content also makes an appearance as LittleBigPlanet gets a bunch of Sonic-themed costumes, MAG gets a free DLC pack, a new track pack shows up for DJ Hero.

A new first-person, action shooter space marine game, Section 8, ships out this week to the clammy, eager hands of North American Xbox 360 and PC gamers, but is there really any cause to get excited about this title?

People who managed to get in on the online multiplayer beta prior to Section 8’s release professed to have a good time, but previously released trailers and screenshots show limp, unexciting and derivative action set-pieces that fail to impress. Is there something missing from this media that is present in the full game?

A new first-person shooter is on its way to PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 entitled Section 8. The game is billed as ‘intense,’ and gives players the ability to use strategy in the battlefield, allowing players to call in support vehicles and use tactical abilities to plan their attack.

Set in the distant future, the story follows the exploits of an elite, ‘crazy’ squad of soldiers, known as Section 8, as they attempt to quell an insurrection amongst Earth’s colonies.
