While another highly anticipated, platform-exclusive action shooter is coming soon, not much excitement has been dedicated to the other platform-exclusive action shooter, Resistance 2!

Resistance 2’s story starts right where the original left off, after which the lead character, Hale, joins an elite group of mutant-killing specialists, ‘The Sentinels,’ as they hop around various locations in the now war-torn United States. The game also features a massive multiplayer component, allowing up to 60 (!) players on at one time.

Watch some gameplay footage below and then click through for ten great screenshots!

Resistance 2 has already been released in the US, but the UK and Europe get it November 28th, exclusively on PS3

Quantum of Solace Box ArtWhile we all know the next James Bond game, Quantum of Solace, looks great on the other next-generation consoles, the Wii version is looking pretty sharp as well, as evidenced by the released screenshots.

Quantum of Solace uses a combination of first-person and third-person cover mechanics, as is becoming the norm amongst shooters nowadays, that “allows players to truly feel what it is like to be the ultimate secret agent as they use their stealth, precision shooting and lethal combat skills to progress through missions.” Great.

While Quantum of Solace has already launched in the UK and Europe, US gamers will get their hands on it on November 4th. It’s also available on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and DS. Screenshots follow below:

Matt Hazard is the star of a number of popular action games from the 80’s all the way to sometime in 2000, as revealed on this handy fan page.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard screenshot 1

The series has unfortunately not really succeeded to the point of a Halo or a Grand Theft Auto, as the developers became increasingly out of touch with the needs of the gaming public, releasing such turkeys as ‘Haz-Matt Carts’ in 2000 and ‘Choking Hazard: Candy Gramm’ in 2002. Matt Hazard has become less and less relevant as time has gone by. So, in one last attempt to wring cash out of the Matt Hazard franchise, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard is on the way.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard screenshot 2

All of this, however, is a complete fabrication as no such series of games has ever existed. Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard will indeed be the first game in the series, but based on gaming heritage that the developers have made up. Hopefully the effort pays off when it releases early next year. More screenshots below:

Can you wait for Fallout 3? No? Well, a few screenshots will have to keep you satisfied until you get your hands on it for real… but they’re good screenshots!

Fallout 3 Screen Shot 1

Fallout 3 can be considered the pre-eminent, post-apocalyptic action-RPG shooter to release this year. Playing in the mammoth nuclear wasteland of Washington D.C. (now known as Capital Wasteland) after an atomic war has ravaged the US, you’ll be able to make important choices about how you progress through the game, leading to over 200 endings. You also get to shoot mutated humans and animals - transformed, shambling husks of flesh, waiting to be blown up with explosives, beautifully rendered in the vast landscapes. Can’t wait!

The sequel to the exciting off-road racer, MotorStorm, only releases in a month’s time in the US (and a little more for Europe dwellers), so if you’re looking forward to the game, some screenshots will have to ease the pain of waiting for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift Screenshot 1

Pacific Rift takes place in and around a volcanic island this time around, as opposed to the canyon setting of the previous game. Speaking of the previous game, go have a look at El33tonline’s review of the original MotorStorm. It’s been released on the PlayStation Platinum series so, if you haven’t got it yet, it’s going for cheap.

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift releases November 14th in the UK and Europe, while North Americans get it October 28th.

The next Spider-Man game, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, has quite the features list, including the ability to switch between Spider-Man’s red or black suit as necessary, and the option to ally with a host of Marvel heroes or villains, which will help determine the story’s direction and outcome.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Screenshot 1

A bunch of new screenshots have been released, featuring one of the story’s characters, Black Cat… and Spider-Man of course. The screenshots also allude to the game’s combat system, as battles may start on the ground, but continue up the sides of buildings and end high in the rooftops. Smart stuff.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is currently in development, but can be expected later this year on all platforms - more screenshots below.

After EA decided to not pursue the development of a Batman game to coincide with the release of The Dark Knight movie earlier this year, news quickly sprung up regarding another Batman game in development at Rocksteady Studios.

Batman Arkham Asylum Screenshot 1

This Batman game, however, doesn’t follow the story of film, The Dark Knight, but instead more closely resembles the Batman universe as told in the DC comic series. The story goes that, as Batman is delivering arch-nemesis, The Joker, to Arkham Asylum (for the umpteenth time, no doubt) a gang of inmates, comprising other super villains Batman has put away, decide to have a little fun with the Caped Crusader after setting a trap for him. The story then unfolds within Arkham Asylum.

The screenshots are looking particularly amazing, with a lot of facial detail which will hopefully translate to some good facial animations. No release date has been announced, so the closest you’ll get is by continuing to gawp at the screens below, or look forward to the next entry to the Lego series of games, Lego Batman.
