Savage Moon LogoDeveloper FluffyLogic has put together a hints, tips and help document about the new downloadable content for their popular tower defence game, Savage Moon.

Waldgeist was made available for download from the PlayStation Store at the beginning of the month for €3.99 but gamers soon reported that the DLC was causing some issues with the game.

FlufflyLogic has since confirmed that they “did a fix for this a few days ago and no new cases have come to light, so [they] are now confident that the issue is resolved for all new purchases of Waldgeist.”

Savage Moon LogoIn April we brought you news that PlayStation Network exclusive tower defence game Savage Moon would receive an add-on pack in June. Since then fans have become impatient waiting for the DLC to hit the PlayStation Network and now it seems you may have to wait just a little bit longer.

El33tonline has confirmed with developer FluffyLogic that the DLC will not be released in June after all. At present the developer is not giving anything away as to when the first add-on pack Waldgeist will be available but stay tuned for more information soon.

The popular tower defence game Savage Moon will receive an add-on pack in June. The first add-on pack Waldgeist promises to boost the game’s features with six new, unique levels, complete with new insect enemies, towers, alien vegetation and a new final mission.

In Savage Moon players embark on a mission to protect an outer-space mining facility from swarms of alien insects. The DLC will add Invisicytes (creatures that have the ability to become invisible to your defence towers), the Death Blossom Bug (large armoured beasts that burst and release tiny, deadly flying bugs) and new Towers (Sensor Towers can render Invisicytes visible, while Arclight Towers fire lightning that conducts from Insectocyte to Insectocyte).

Fall is upon us my fellow tower defense addicts and the release of Savage Moon is imminent. You should have entered your annual leave period so the timing is perfect, so be sure to stock up on all the essential beverages and prepare to bunker in. To tide you over until the full game is available you can download the video trailer from the PSN store. For the bandwidth constrained amongst us, it weighs in at a whopping 52MB, but it is worth every eye popping pixel.

Savage Moon LogoAfter watching the trailer on loop for a couple of minutes to soak up the goodness that Savage Moon alludes to, I can share the following. The trailer shows a few brief moments from a level called Agamemnon, on one of the moons. You need to destroy the swarm of enemies that are hell bent on destroying your mine. Simple enough right. You get to research technology and then upgrade your weapons. Awesome! And then the trailer ends all too soon…

What can’t be seen from the trailer is whether they have managed to make a non invasive control system and mesh it with a decent camera angle. I hope we will see a highly polished game when it is finally released that easily allows you to place towers, and that the camera just works without you having to move it around the whole time.

Savage Moon is a downloadable PS3 title that will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation Network, hopefully very soon now. For more Savage Moon news and screenshots head over to our previous coverage.

SCEA have taken the wraps off the “mystery game that [it] had up its sleeve.” Savage Moon is a downloadable PS3 title that will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation Network this fall.

Described as a “frantic, action-packed tower defense game in a gritty sci-fi setting,” Savage Moon tasks players with protecting mining facilities from space bugs. Not only will you need firepower to keep the bugs at bay, you will also need to use your best strategy to survive the onslaught.

Each level of the game is set on a living asteroid known as an Imoon. Humanity needs these Imoons to survive since they are rich in mineral deposits, however, deadly creatures known as Insectocytes will stop at nothing to end your mining endeavours.

Players start with machine gun towers but can expand their arsenal to various weapons and artillery to defend the mines. Your strategy will dictate when you upgrade, add new towers or save your money, ultimately deciding whether you survive the waves of bugs or if your mines will be destroyed.

Place your towers defenses optimally to kill the different kinds of Insectocytes most effectively, earning points as you kill which you can then use to upgrade the size and firepower of your defenses as well as develop new weapons and technologies.

According to SCEA’s Producer, Daimion Pinnock, “Savage Moon is addictive and the action is relentless, making it fun no matter what your skill level is. The action is intense, but you also have to think and have a solid strategy to survive. The best players can even post their scores to the online leader boards to see how they stack up.”

More details were promised soon.
