The much-talked-about high definition remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved was recently removed from the category of ‘rumour’ and placed squarely in the ‘fact’ bucket, as Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was formally announced at Microsoft’s E3 2011 press event.

In the crazy world of Inversion, mere contrivances such as gravity don’t matter much at all and while we’ve seen cars, busses and even buildings floating in mid-air in a previously released trailer for this action game, it’s probably the first time we’ve been able to witness a hoard of ugly aliens storming a building by running up the side of it, clearly unhindered by the forces of nature.

A little mind-bending? Sure. Very awesome? That too:

First announced at the tail-end of 2009, news has been quiet on Namco Bandai and Saber Interactive’s highly intriguing Inversion… until earlier this year, that is, when it was revealed that the gravity-twisting action game had been pushed back into a 2012 release window.

With the release of live-action/CG trailer for this third-person shooter, a solid early February 2012 release date has been announced after we’re shown quick cuts and glimpses at what could potentially happen in the game, with floating sauce, cars and people as a result of what looks to be an alien invasion of Earth.

A new title, Inversion, has been announced to be in production at TimeShift developer Saber Interactive, with publishing duties being handled by Namco Bandai.

What’s so special about Inversion? As a third-person shooter, Inversion features a little something extra for people to get excited about: gravity flipping.
