The Major has announced this week’s Xbox LIVE ‘Deal of the Week’ to be none other than the excellent side-scrolling shootie, R-Type Dimensions.

If you’re an Xbox LIVE Gold member, you’ll now be able to buy R-Type Dimensions (which includes both R-Type I and II with brand new 3D graphics) for 800 MS Points, as opposed to the usual 1200 MS Points.

This deal is valid until the beginning of next week only, so get buying already!

New to Xbox LIVE Arcade is R-Type Dimensions, featuring the classic side-scrolling, shoot-‘em-up action of both R-Type and R-Type II, allowing you to play either in their original 2D states, or with newly created 3D graphics!

Classic and Infinite modes are both available to play either in a singleplayer fashion, or as a multiplayer campaign, locally or over Xbox LIVE. “Power up and strike down the evil Bydo Empire!” indeed!
