If you’ve got a guitar lying around the house but don’t have the motivation to make music on it then Rocksmith is for you. This game is all about teaching you how to master your instrument in an instructive but entertaining way, and presents you with over 50 tracks to play including ‘Song 2’ by Blur and ‘Use Somebody’ by Kings of Leon. You can connect a wide range of guitars to your console or PC via the included “Hercules” adapter which plugs into your instrument’s output jack.
Ubisoft has revealed details of its line-up for this year’s E3.
Since E3 marks the start of the publisher’s 25th anniversary celebration, Ubisoft promises to “deliver its strongest and most diverse brand portfolio to date, with titles spanning all major genres and platforms, including a variety of action adventure and shooter titles, fitness games, online titles and casual games to play with the family.”
This line-up includes explosive HD titles such as Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Call of Juarez: The Cartel, Driver San Francisco, Rayman Origins and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier.
It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the music genre in the videogame industry over the past few years. The competition has been fierce between two of the most popular series, Rock Band and Guitar Hero, but with the recent news that the Guitar Hero franchise would be discontinued we’ve been left wondering about where the industry will go from here.
Well it seems as if we may just have the answer from Ubisoft, who recently unveiled Rocksmith. Described by the publisher as a “revolutionary new music videogame” that will “revolutionise the music genre,” Rocksmith is being touted to be the “first and only videogame that plugs into any real guitar.” With many gamers complaining about the number of plastic instrument peripherals clogging up their closets and lounges, we think Ubisoft may just be on to something here.
